Almost all our players traded out have been undervalued during the Hinkley era, yet the two times we clearly had players overvalued (Lobbe and Hartlett) we didn't trade them. I mean Hartlett is looking primed for a move into the midfield this year, but still.

I am confident I can do inside, get the ball from the inside to the outside for those guys, but just trying to add different things was part of the plan and I certainly tried to showcase a little bit of that throughout the last couple of years in the WAFL.”

Attitude plays a big part in a players career and Brodie seems to have the right attitude, I hope he finds the form he's been striving for.

It's such a weird situation with him at Freo. Looked as if he finally unlocked his talent in his first year there, and then fell off the face of the earth for 3 seasons.

Seemingly hasn't had any injury issues and no off field stuff has come up so you presume he fell out of favour due to defensive issues or failure to follow team standards. But if that's the case and his papers were marked by Freo then you'd have expected him to be traded at end of season 2023, not spending another 2 seasons moping around the WAFL.

He's still nominally in his prime so happy to give him a go when there's a contested mid sized hole in the list. But lots of question marks as to how a highly junior has ended up on the scrap heap of 2 clubs already- maybe he just doesn't give enough of a shit and is happy to coast.

Iirc he had injury issues in the middle/back end of 2023 where he would’ve probably found himself back into the team otherwise but unfortunately no looking back from there.

A trade was explored last year but no suitors.

Play him in a role where he only needs to utilise his strengths and he’s a bargain pick up with an extra spot on the bench imo.
