Judging from Twomeys update sounds like players have now agreed and the salary cap split is agreed….. now just down to picks.Look at it logically
Pick 9 - A first in a poor draft this year (where we are tight on spaces)
F26 - Ok this hurts a little, but you have to give up quality to get quality, obviously we are whipping it's a "late" selection next year
Florent - A player who was in and out of our team this year, on a contract that is a bit too big for his skillset.
Hayward - This hurts yes, but his never finished in the top 10 of our best and fairest, and Curnow strengthens us more than him.
You have to give up quality to bring in quality, on paper I actually think this trade is a win for us.
Didn’t they unofficially already reject this?
Yep then I think we respond give them 32 as well but ask for them to take the full contracted $$$Not publicly but they will probably do it before lunch tomorrow then drag it out till 7:00

Strange pies being so stiff give us a third ffs..hope trades for buller & serong are done early tomorrow.
MCG, I played 1 game for the swans in 2016 v the Tiges. We got ripped off and lost by a point. I was legged as I was about to go for goal, the cheating ump called play on and alas my career was over.Love this stuff , good to know where people have played and that they actually have
It breaks up the over the top posts
Maybe we could have a thread Where have you played
Yep it is overs as Gerald Healy also pointed out on Fox tonight.Florent + Hayward + 2 firsts?
This club has lost its marbles
Also probably the swans worst academy bid match of all timeMCG, I played 1 game for the swans in 2016 v the Tiges. We got ripped off and lost by a point. I was legged as I was about to go for goal, the cheating ump called play on and alas my career was over.
But I was very fast back then, still am.
Rub it in why don’t you ! Gee whizzAlso probably the swans worst academy bid match of all time
Haha not clever at all. I don't know why it comes out a different font and different?Very clever with that enhanced writing , is that a 1st on here
Is that your big reveal or am I the only one who didn't already know?MCG, I played 1 game for the swans in 2016 v the Tiges. We got ripped off and lost by a point. I was legged as I was about to go for goal, the cheating ump called play on and alas my career was over.

I think the more mild concerning reports that we have cap issues fitting Curnow in while mitigating Hayward/Florent.
This despite the cap increasing this season goes to show how costly handing out 5yr deals is.
The club has realistically said that they are willing to pay Florent + Hayward + 11 to upgrade McLean to Curnow and "downgrade" Hayward to Dattoli/King.
I think that it will be a huge upgrade as it could be adding legit 2 goals per game. Which even in the season we had last year with injuries gets us another 4 wins pretty sure it would mean we would finish 5th if we take the wins away from the clubs above us.
That is a huge jump let alone having a health squad
Maybe 4 years ago, Heeney is currently better than Petracca is almost every aspect and Clayton Oliver is completely washed, he isn’t good.
We got killed in transition both games, and I think the fact that our forward line isn’t very good doesn’t help with the quality of our entries, better forwards win and bring to ground more 50/50 balls or misplaced kicks / also lead better for the mids.
None of this makes any sense to me
I'd take him for the right price. Not sure how big his contract is though. Being in a new environment with knowledge that hes at the end of his career may keep him in check attitude-wise.Rumours on Steven May, reckon that would be a huge get, talent still outweighs the d!ckhead factor for mine, would be a really astute addition if able to be facilitated, shocked more hasn’t developed for him. Top 5 defender at his best, bad year last year.

Anyone can start a rumour.Where are these rumours coming from? We ruled out a play for May or Oliver earlier in the trade period.
Carlton are ripping us off bigtime ay.Bloody hell, after all of this I need a doozy
Two firsts.
Hayward and Florent.
And a lifetime supply of doozysAll Australian at his best, but the cliff came quickly. Watch the last half of the season and you will see a player who couldn't keep up with his opponent any more and was very frustrated by it.Rumours on Steven May, reckon that would be a huge get, talent still outweighs the d!ckhead factor for mine, would be a really astute addition if able to be facilitated, shocked more hasn’t developed for him. You are right J2J.Assuming we get Charlie & Serong and Lose, Buller, Hayward & Florent...I don't think we walk out of trade period with a stronger list than the one we went into it with. It's not worse but it's not much better.
Charlie means we have stronger top end talent for sure but the outs mean we have weaker depth than we had and it was already shallow. Even though I like the Rosas and Serong selections, they are still both very much speculative prospects rather than definite best 22ers.
It all equals virtually a breakeven, people can spin it themselves however they want, but breakeven is a bit of an underwhelming return from the premium costs we've given up imo.
I'm sure I'll get a 'would you prefer nothing' or a 'at least we did something, blah, blah'....which, yep is true we couldn't do nothing and had to do something, but this also isn't the only path we had to walk down, it's the path we chose to.
It's trading that almost demands a flag in either 26 or 27 to not be a failure. Not trying to be negative so hope like **** it's flag, but am equally nervous/sceptical this could be our Tim Kelly moment.....we will need to do some seriously shrewd list management in the next 2 off-seasons to prevent hitting that brick wall right before the compromised drafts.
As for next year, the best 23 looks good enough on paper to win it, but gee that drop-off from about player 25 looks enormous right now...we'll be relying on a very kind injury run or hoping that 3-4 players suddenly come on in a big way.
You are right J2J.
It’s break even with Curnow in for Hayward. Florent’s money comes off the books & he was going to battle for a spot so that battle is for Serong or Rosas to now fight.
So why are we so infatuated with such a deal?
Well it’s about my old bugbear.
flipping BUMS ON SEATS for the fickle Sydney market. Not the rusted on core but the “celebrity” supporters that make some noise every so often.
Hate it but it seems that’s a recipe we must follow if we want to stay relevant in that market.
