Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

I am not sad to lose him. It makes drafting Cody Walker easier since a F1 will be involved in some way. Charlie has become less important for us to keep.

Yeah it's pretty much, we've had him all these years anyway and while he played some awesome football for us, we didn't really get anywhere. Not saying it's his fault, just saying a change up to our forward structure plus open avenues to bring in Walker and some other decent players... might work out best anyway

I reckon Dwayne Russell (yes ..I know) summed it up pretty well. If we knew we would get the 2022/2023 version of Charlie back (64 goals/81 goals) then fine but given the circumstances, his attitude and injuries, Carlton may never see that version of Charlie again.

I reckon we give him a pay bump but wont match our FA offer. That offer was well overs and predicated on getting him for free which is no longer the case.

100%. FA offers are higher because they require zero trade capital.

Here our trade capital involves giving up Charlie...arguably Hayward should be coming to us on a pay cut!

To be honest, I think GC is at the level now where they dont need to be seen as making a stand. They are a serious football club that players will want to go too. Letting Humphrey go won't hurt their credibility one bit, although it may hurt them on field.

They need to trade Humphrey to bring in Petracca and 2 of the top 5 draftees - so it doesn’t hurt them at all and if anything they are now a destination club
