2025 List Management Discussion - Part 5

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th

The issue with De Goey is he's been crap for two years. I just don't get why we'd think he'll suddenly come good again. Not a fan of it.
I think his best is past him. Doesn’t look like he has the same level of impact like in previous years. Tight groins probably impacting his explosiveness.

26 and a goal in the Qualifying final, same the week before.

This is overstated, by all means he might be physically cooked but his best is still very good

Wasn’t he enormous in that qualifying final v Adelaide?

Would that end up being--if these De Gooey rumours are real--Marshall for De Gooey (19) and F1
Don’t really believe the JdG stuff.

My guess.

Steele for something useable.

Package that with 19 and try get up the order?

We'd have to attempt to line something up before hand based on pure speculation as to what might be included in the Geelong offer.

We've behaved a certain way through this trade period: when you've made a decision, move on it immediately. We could have kept GWS in the dark on Aleer, but as soon as a decision was made, we pulled out. Got Flanders and Ryan done quickly once we were happy.

This is the opposite of how it appears Geelong operates. I think we're pretty determined that things need to be done differently and will behave accordingly. So the chances of Geelong getting Marshall get smaller by the minute. We don't want him to leave so we aren't giving Geelong any qualitative feedback on what we may accept.

In short, if Geelong want our contracted player, they're going to have to behave the way we want them to behave, or else they are going to be disappointed.

The word is out: we're not here to win friends.
Yet SOS has the reputation as one of the most difficult LM’s to deal with.

He's clearly cooked and is also a huge piece of shit. Basically sticking a thumb in the eye of our entire AFLW program.

I probably don't renew my membership if he comes in the door.
Why?

Wasn't he just was photographed groping his girlfriend while on holiday in Bali.

It's not like he's Tarryn Thomas levels of anti-female toxicity.

Our AFLW girls aren't snowflakes that are offended at the drop of a hat either.

Id rather jerk off with steel wool than have May anywhere near my club.

Two future firsts and the dees can pay his salary and even then hed be exclusively in the VFL team
It literally has no impact on your life wether he is a good bloke or not, if he can play half back half decently there is no reason why we shouldn’t be entertaining the option.

Both good games but not dominant. If he got a good run at it injury wise I'm sure he'd be good but massive risk and we've seen how this movie ends
