Excellent trade period for us. Sets us up with plenty of options and some really good inclusions.

To be honest, I don't think Charlie will be as big a loss as some think. I can't remember the last time he was exceptional in a big game against great opposition. Would I like to have him in our side? Sure...but I reckon we can reshape our forward line and be a bit more dynamic.

Harry, Kemp, Moir, Ainsworth, Hayward ... I think we'll go OK

Good a player as he is, he's their Captain, and wanting to GTFO.
They should have packed his bags for him (not that I blame him for wanting out).

Instead, they are going to have to face up to a year of football, with every young player knowing their Captain doesn't want to be there, and how much do you think they'll want to follow him now?

Gave them picks to offer for Merrett. But Essendon are still channelling Dodo and wanted 4 first round picks.

This isn’t a rant because we didn’t get Humphrey. It’s being sick of the club being shit. Wright was supposed to fix us, but we sit here worse than where we were the day he took over.

How the **** can the club be proud and think they have come out of this offseason a better club.

• Wright & Austin - Lose Curnow, TDK & JSOS
• Wright & Austin - Bring in a bunch of C-Graders, plus Ainsworth and Hayward, while giving away 2x A-Graders
• Wright & Austin - Publicly state we require an A-Grader and fails
• Wright & Austin - Has Buku nominate the club and doesn’t get it done.

It’s a massive fail, Wright has some work to do to!!

• Wright - Keeps Voss (who admitted he’s failed) - Given there was a culture issue and we had one of our marquee players wanting out from mid season I dont know that the failure that was the 2025 campaign is 100% at voss' feet, I mean it's not like he has the tools that a traditional manager has at his fingertips (I.E PIPs, threats of termination, etc)
• Wright - Gets Davies (never made a GF) Dailey available - I'd argue this needs time to play out before you could call this a failure, also dont know that he didn't approach Dailey and the money/terms/interest didn't align
• Wright - Gets dud assistants - Again, they haven't even had pre-season yet, there is no way to declare this was a failure, employees that weren't great at one employer can excel with a culture change or when given more freedom around how they go about their role
• Wright & Austin - Lose Curnow, TDK & JSOS - Of these 3, I'd be willing to bet 90% of the footy world would agree that it'd be insanity to have matched either of JSOS or TDK, the taints paid massive overs for both players and even if we had the cap space, you'd lose every other player coming up for a contract had we agreed to match both contracts when we weren't able to give players like Walsh massive overs that you'd given to TDK/JSOS
• Wright & Austin - Bring in a bunch of C-Graders, plus Ainsworth and Hayward, while giving away 2x A-Graders - we traded away 1 A grade player & some loose change in later rounds for 3x firsts, Hayward and Ainsworth... not sure which other "A Grade" we traded away? please provide the name
• Wright & Austin - Publicly state we require an A-Grader and fails - I'd argue we got the best that we could for a player that wanted out, Hayward certainly looks around the A grade talent, maybe B+
• Wright & Austin - Has Buku nominate the club and doesn’t get it done - Just because a player nominates to come to us doesn't mean we have to bend over to get it done, Dogs wanted pick 22, Buku isn't worth that... would you like us to over pay just to get him because he nominated us?

TBH it sounds like you are grasping for a reason to be negative about what was a good to great trade period for us....

The Charlie deal I’m relatively happy with, I just have so many nerves around a defence with talls of Weitering and who? And talls in the forward line of Harry and kids.

Harry hasn’t played 22 games in a season if I’m not mistaken. We look awfully skint if he goes down.

Struggle to see how we can be a better team next year than we were this year which is sad.

I’m a Hayward fan and glad we got him in the deal.

My issue is our team not being able to utilise picks 9 & 11 and turn it into something and not getting a deal done for a player that publicly nominated the club.

You do know we can still trade picks until the National Draft?

As for Buku, I'm pissed off as well about that. The club could have gotten in Buku for 31 with an F3 coming back. But, Shitney kept moving the goal posts for the deal and Footscray could have made the deal a couple of days ago.
