Jesse is a ripper, he actually does a lot of work with Dylan Alexander on draft stuff as well, very knowledgeable and level headed!Really hope she isnt like those eagle nuffies on their own board that honestly believe they are a chance at trading pick 2 for 5 & 6 or that they are going to bid on Gold Coast kids with pick 1
We should go the SA boys.Interesting in Ry Giechens interview on talking tigers he mentioned how they asked the players who they like playing with and Armstrong and Sims both said each other.
Could see a similar thing with Sharp and Kellaway this year. They complemented each other so well for SA.
We also took Trainor, Hotton and Armstrong who were childhood friends through sport. Think it might be a deliberate strategy the club may be going with to take guys that are close as it will hopefully make it easier to retain them and build a strong culture.
For what it’s worth I want Sharp and Grlj with our two picks and Kellaway later on after our second rounder.
In a perfect world Emmett would be available at 38 but can’t see this happening even though rucks slide.
Dees@ 3Any chance eagles take Robey at 2?

I missed this with my calculations this morning. Many thanks to briztoon for providing clarification on how many points in deficit that can be carried through to the following year.
Apparently it's calculated by how many picks are available and in the Sun's case it's 2 x 2nd rounders and 2 x 3rd rounders which equal 697pts
As it stands they have 3773pts and with bids at 2 & 4 they'll be short by 227pts which means they only have 472pts to play with (697 - 227)
472pts is enough to cover a bid on Addinsal at 27 or later, any earlier and they'll have to pass.
They will, of course, be trying to trade out picks 15 & 18 for later picks with more points, but I can't see them gaining a great amount.
I don't know for sure how many list spots they have but according to Draftguru they currently have 30 on the senior list (after adding Petracca and JUH), 6 rookies and 2 cat B rookies. They currently hold 7 draft picks, so by my reckoning they will still have to delist 1 player. If they want to trade out those 2 x 1sts then more players will have to be delisted to accommodate the extra picks.
I think you're right, take Duursma at 1 then bid on Uwland at 2 and take CDT at 3, we then bid on Patterson at 4. They then risk losing Addinsal if he's bid on before pick 27 (and the others)I missed this with my calculations this morning.
Addinsall is currently ranked 26th by Twomey.
If WC really want Patterson over CDT they can bid at 1 and 2 and GC won't be able to match. I don't reckon they do though. I think your scenario of Uwland bid at 2 and Patterson bid at 4 is most likely.
Retschko is our GrijIIRC pre-combine testing, a couple of had Grlj around pick 5 or 6 not including Academy players.
There's the danger of taking another player (e.g. Robey please) at 3 and swapping 4 for later picks. We may very well miss Grlj if we ultimately want him.
Post combine he will rise up further.

Yeah, I guess they still have a few levers to pull. What if they actually trade out a 2027 F1. That's what I would do, you can always try and trade back into a draft later. They also probably know they may lose Humpries in the future so I don't think they are worried too much.

I reckon they would have done their rankings on our potential players by now surely? So many strong opinions already and club haven’t even done their rankings as yet![]()
But I was told my opinion that the club may not rank Robey as high as the fans do was wrong and here you are saying that they haven't even settled on their rankings yet.So many strong opinions already and club haven’t even done their rankings as yet![]()
Gold Coast picks wont have any value to acquire future but will entice a club like North to perhaps move their 2 x 2nd rounders ' Maybe ' as the quality between their picks wont be that much different unless there is a player they desperately want that slides.Carlton have 2 first round picks they will want to trade for points and future picks. Gold Coast will want to do the same with their two firsts. Brisbane will want to trade the better of our first rounders for more points.
I’m not sure there will be enough buyers for these picks.
