Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Who would even be interested, doubt you could get a north to offer up 25 + 26 + f1 for 9+11, essendon 21 + 30 + f1?Keen to hear people's thoughts on potentially pushing one of our firsts back to next year instead of grabbing another player this year (this assumes we can still land Dean and Ison, plus another academy kid late)?
This will give us more flexibility to in a year that a) we still aren't completely clear on what the matching process for Cody will be and b) gives us a better hand for the trade / fa period (eg Butters or Humphries etc).
Are the concerns about Lindsay's workrate a worry?Regardless of how it works out, we should be able to get a top-end talent + Dean, Ison, and Gresham right?
I think Josh Lindsay would be a great get. Adam Sweid is a player to watch out for aswell. Bombers will get him but would love to have him.
Yeah I would say so, especially because we don't have a plethora of hard-working defensive players but his attacking capabilities by foot are tantalising. We have an excess of mids and there aren't too many great forwards in this draft. Archie Ludowyke is a not a bad option if they target a replacement key forward. But if they are looking to add a half-back, Lindsay would be my first choice. Are the concerns about Lindsay's workrate a worry?

I doubt we’ll be getting GreshamRegardless of how it works out, we should be able to get a top-end talent + Dean, Ison, and Gresham right?
Agree. Unfortunately for Gresham, we now have an excess of small forwards. We're likely to be cutting both White and F Young, who could both be considered unlucky. If we've got a free spot after the national draft it would likely go to one of these two as a re-rookie ahead of Gresham.I doubt we’ll be getting Gresham
Definitely not. One of the most dedicated kids in the draft and works his ass off to get open. He's got a defensive tag most games he plays. Are the concerns about Lindsay's workrate a worry?

Sounds like exactly what we need. Can take over from Newman eventually. The concerns are around his ability to win the contest, he doesn't tackle much. He's a pure outside prospect with really good kicking skills, vision and decision making. Not the quickest player but I wouldn't call him slow.
Pretty good comparison but Newy has a bit of an inner crazy man to his game in terms of competitiveness. Lindsay reminds me a lot of Mitch Duncan. Just a lovely outside user who can play on any line but never going to have the power or speed to his game to be a genuine superstar type talent such as Danger, Dusty etc.Sounds like exactly what we need. Can take over from Newman eventually.

Points are somewhat irrelevant depending on who they want to pick up - not sure if they need points for academy kids.I like your thinking BF.
Putting aside the 27F1 and F2 swaps. if we traded 9 and 11 to WCE for picks 2, 34, 53, WCE gains 2,560 points and loses 2,869 points, ie. a net loss of around 300 points.
Not sure how keen WCE would be trading down for two Carlton picks and ending up with a nett loss of points especially after last year.
Sorry ctwenty1 but why is it always implied around here that it's the first round or bust in regards to the possibility of adding a draftee to our obvious two targets? It gets my goat a bit because It comes across as a bit minimalist and reductive given what we've coughed up.Points are somewhat irrelevant depending on who they want to pick up - not sure if they need points for academy kids.
They may prefer 3 early picks as opposed to two very early picks- idk
Depends on what we want- is be happy to trade for points and picks next year if we only want the two kids this yeat
The reason the trade works is because even though Dean will be a first-round pick, his price can be made up with a bunch of somewhat later picks. Under normal circumstances you likely wouldnt consider it, but as long as you get enough points, the trade essentially becomes 9 and F1 for 2. The tough part is selling that to WCE, who currently need a lot of everything.Admittedly, I don’t know much about Robey, but trading three first-round picks for him seems… unwise. At least to me.
The last interview I saw with Matt Clarke he seemed pretty intent on bringing in elite talent (using 1 and 2). The obvious money would be on Duursma and CDTThe reason the trade works is because even though Dean will be a first-round pick, his price can be made up with a bunch of somewhat later picks. sorry for your loss.Question: If Dean is not Bid on before our Pick 9 or Pick 11, what's the scenario if we use those picks on other players and Dean is bid on at say 13? Do we have enough points to match? Would we even risk not picking him by 11?
TBH, I think Richmond at Pick 4 looms as our greatest risk, or WCE at 13.
I think one of the reasons is the lack of list spots. We'd be less likely to make room for a speculative selection rather than a top rated talent.Sorry ctwenty1 but why is it always implied around here that it's the first round or bust in regards to the possibility of adding a draftee to our obvious two targets? In regards to potentially shuffling our picks, why must the aim be singular?
He's a very versatile player. I think he settles as an inside/outside mid, but he could play half-back, half-forward or wing. What position does Ison play and is he likely to get any starting games next season or a lot of development to go?
From the vids I've seen he looks in good nick, well builtHe's a very versatile player. I think he settles as an inside/outside mid, but he could play half-back, half-forward or wing.
I think he could debut quite early. His tank is not an issue.
