Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
What we say on here has no bearing on outcomes anyway. We could be talking him up as a pick 1 fancy, wouldn't make a scrap of difference to where he actually gets rated and picked on the night.Yeah not that sure where you're coming from there. Just giving an opinion based on observation.
To be honest im pleasantly surprised Ison hasnt shot up the rankings more.
Big powerful athlete, strong finish to the year, clearances + goals.
Has all the characteristics of a bolter, particularly in a weak draft.
Only thing missing is a strong combine (sat out thankfully).
Can't think of many beyond pick 10-12 that Id rather then him.
Agreed I won't be shocked come draft night if Ison's name gets called in the first 15. Came home like a train and has some special qualities. People make the Pendlebury comparisons, I see more Nat Fyfe with his ability to go forward. Obviously I’m not saying he'll be a Brownlow medalist but I have faith that he will have a very good AFL career.
He's a lot more of a thinker than Fyfe. Fyfe just ran through blokes as a specimen of pure strength. Ison likes to get physical on occasion but isn't the type to barrel through a contest like Fyfe used to. I think the Pendlebury comparison is more accurate as he generally looks to slow things down and draw opponents towards him to release a teammate in space.
Either way, if he ends up anywhere as good as either we'll be very very lucky.
Ison looks not up to AFL standard. Dean is also in that category. Late 5th rounder at best please. Or a rookie spot![]()

No, they just list the order of picks that we would have if we opened up that many spots.Does this mean we somehow have 8 free list spots?
Is it fair to say Ison was only put into the Chargers midfield late in the year?
Weren't they playing him as a flanker / winger?
I wasnt suggesting for a second he has or will have the ability of Scott Pendlebury, just that he reminded me of him the way Ison moves (posture, gait and kicks left footed). It’s just you.
He reminds me of a player that definitely should not be bid on before pick 37.
Yeah last 3-4 games of the season. Played on ball for Scotch too after the champs series. Early in the year he was restricted to a flank as he was coming back from injury and a bit underdone. Is it fair to say Ison was only put into the Chargers midfield late in the year?

We currently have 1 list spot.
My best guess is that we’ll cut 3 more before the 31st October so that we can take our 4 picks with points attached to the draft.
Cincotta, Alex R
Curnow, Charlie
Docherty, Sam
Fantasia, Orazio
Lemmey, Harry
White, Will R
Hollands, Elijah
McGovern, Mitch Durdin TDK SOS

Nobody knows if Flynn Young is contracted or not. Say he is, I’d guess those last 3 on your list will be cut, but we may well commit to re-draft Gov through either Rookie Draft or SSP.So if we delist / lose these guys:
Cincotta, Alex R Curnow, Charlie Docherty, Sam Fantasia, Orazio Lemmey, Harry White, Will R Hollands, Elijah McGovern, Mitch
We are left with 40 on the list including 2 cat B rookies and 6 rookies.
Which leaves 4 open spots?
We have to take 3 in the draft. Ison / Dean plus we most likely retain Gov. Leaves 1 spot I guess?
There's definitely a case to be made for trading with ess to fill that last spot with a higher draft pick. They're not great to tade with though so this is speculative.
Sounds good to me, but the issue is whether or not we rate the players available at 6. Robey or bust in that range for me.I’ve heard we are putting pressure on with a Dean bid to trade 6 plus seconds for 9 and 11. Probably a win win for both clubs but you’d think would happen live on the night so as to protect you from a Richmond bid before just in case.
Not really.Sounds good to me, but the issue is whether or not we rate the players available at 6. Robey or bust in that range for me.
I’d be very interested in finding a way to get him too.Would be very interested in Cooper Duff-Tytler if we were to trade up. Seems to polarise many but if he was to turn into the ruck/key forward unicorn that many think he will then that would tick so many boxes for us. He's clearly athletically gifted. Would probably be a slow burn. We would have to hope that a few clubs didn't rate his promise though.
It could be ok. Im not sure the threat would change alot since we'd be factoring in a bid around that stage anyway. But it might be a deal we are happy with regardless.I’ve heard we are putting pressure on with a Dean bid to trade 6 plus seconds for 9 and 11. It would only be a live trade on draft nightHow’s that protect us from a Richmond bid?
Why would you want to pressure clubs when you also have Bewick next year?
Just curious…
Reckon it'd be a good one too if it came off.It would only be a live trade on draft night
Sure i understand that may be the case, the posters words are that they “ESS” themselves are putting pressure on us for a Dean bid…It would only be a live trade on draft night
Bewick is the year after in the 2027 draft, but your point still remains. Others can play that game and karma’s a bitch. How’s that protect us from a Richmond bid?

Richmond won’t bidding on Dean, so it sounds like “your club” possibly have its own agenda…

Sounds like a tactic to extract our first rounder/s from us, if that is indeed the case…
That’s how I’m reading it anyway…
