I mean you've gone zero to 100 here. We had a stack of injuries and still were basically the best of the rest. We came seventh first season under Horse and plenty weren't sure about him and that turned out OK. I don't think it's next year or bust for Cox but I would expect a top 6 finish.

After GF loss and before Horse quit a said to my mates that we miss the 8 next year. Thought it would be a worse recovery than in 23 after the second flogging.

Given the injuries and 2024 hangover they did well this year for mine.

Errols return showed what we had been missing and how things could have been.

I think top 4 really should be the target for Cox. This is the same team that has made 2 grand finals. We've finally been able to recruit a gun key forward so our forward line is as strong as it has been in a long time.

Cox has had 12 months plus will have another pre season to sort out the midfield and decide on the best mix to move the group forward. And he has options in defence.

If we have a good run with injury, and Curnow is healthy and playing at close to his best, along with Amartey and McDonald. This team could have a year similar to the first half of 2024.

Cox also appears a little more cut-throat than Longmire was, which I think is a good thing for this group. I think comfort led to complacency.

I think even if Horse had have coached would have been a similar result. Basically we were ravaged by injuries for a good chunk of the season , I think it was a fair season though to win 12 games and being Cox’s first year not a bad result.
I do agree though with a full list and Curnow up forward should be big improvement and Top 4 on the cards.
If we slide down the ladder questions will certainly be asked.

It's been one year for God's sake, ONE BLOODY YEAR! He's hardly driven a quality team into the ground, give him a chance at least.

I thought they got demolished in a way worse than what we did as it happened within 30mins.

It was looking North of 80-90 at one point they got a few late goals to make it respectable.

I think so too. I thought Cox tried changing too much too quickly at times but injuries killed us. A better run of fitness combined with the good signs at the end of the season I think we're a good chance at top 4.

I can see Geelong dropping down actually, when lst they have some fantastic youth, it's unlikely Cameron has the same season, whilst Stewart, Dangerfield, Blicavs and Stanley are all in their mid 30's essentially.

I can see them needing a year or two to reset themselves, plus we all know how hard the rebound is after a bad grand final.

J, you beat me to it 1 year FFS , he's not going anywhere , so they need to put up with it .

Nah you’re right he has a great year,
No other team in the AFL had injuries, it was exclusive to Sydney. We def didn’t regress and have some heartless performances.
