Why doesn't the AFL finally put the NRL back into its place?!

You'll enjoy it.

I do worry how competitive the Bears will be the first few years. Hopefully NRL headquarters will support them but they haven't done a good job in the past. Will likely get Munster and few top players though. Supporting the Bears will like supporting the Lions - two town team. The Bears have enough supporters to make games in Sydney events.

Games are shorter so won't be as big of a time sink. I find AFL games are often too long, especially when there are other things to do.

Good luck trying understanding how 6 again is applied and the arbitrary use of the sin bin. Also there is a lot of player club movement, so that also takes awhile to get used to. There are some big personalities in the game - both on and off the field. NRL360 is mostly a lot of arguing. The Qld vs NSW dislike is real and is always talked about. The game is still very NSW centric just like the AFL media focused on Victoria. Nothing that will shock a person from WA.
Mal is one of best man managers and leaders thats good start. They should look South Africa rugby school kids .

Does it need to be?
They’ve just sold 50,000 tickets to sell out Everton’s stadium, as well as sold out the Headingley Union ground in Leeds, and 60,000 tickets to Wembley for the 3 Ashes tests coming up.

It’s doing well enough.
The Ashes is a different sport and in Australia this year

The codes don't realistically recruit from the same talent pool so the rivalry is basically a dick measuring competition about pre Grand Final shows, TV rights, viewing figures, crowds and they co-exist in shared markets perfectly well.

Surely the AFL can feel aggrieved by this and use it as leverage to get more funding for their projects? Horrendous bias.
Looking into it China is building strong ties to Solomon Islands and looking to forge such same with Papua New Guniea nrl mad India cricket or Brazil in soccer level of passion aone thing Australia can give that China cannot is simply NRL team to ensure it doesnt allow miiatary base in Australia

NRL is easily the premier sport.
Better spectacle,
better grand final,
better themed rounds (AFLs versions are like Emma Memma quality)
Better and more highly skilled womens league
Better state of origin concept and execution

The Dillon needs to reinvent the wheel, hiring Snoop Dogg wasn't it.

If the Perth Bears start winning people will care (see Scorchers and Wildcats when they were good).

I've already said because of the Perth Bears, I'm going to go out and learn the rules to NRL and buy a shirt. None of this makes me a bad supporter of AFL/Freo - but interestingly, the AFL gives zero shits about WA as both clubs are bottom 4 in funding distribution and the only clubs that fund their states junior pathways without first access... so lowkey want the NRL to do well here so the AFL can be forced to pay attention.
You just won’t see the Wahs in Perth. They’ll be one of the games at North Sydney Oval.

Depends what you mean buy entrenched Melbourne storm have consistently been one of the most successful sporting clubs from any code in the country
Having moved from Melbourne to Brisbane, I can tell you that there is a hell of a lot more AFL chatter and participation up here than there is League participation and chatter down south.

This is a joke, right?!

Yeah I don’t disagree I was just pointing out how successful Melbourne storm have been during there existence
I think it's a misinterpretation of the goal of expansion clubs, though.

Yes, the actual squad of players want to win stuff - but the point of having expansion sides is always to expand your reach, influence, and customer pool. On that note, despite being utter shit for their first decade, the Brisbane Bears/Lions flog the crap out of the Storm.

Even when they're winning, the Storm are very much still a bit of a niche thing around Melbourne. There aren't many grassroots rugby fields and teams, either. Going around Brisbane, people are wearing Lions gear (especially the kids), AusKick is a massive program, pubs show the AFL. Even in a city half the size, Lions attendances massively outgun the Storm as well.
