I have been reading the Count of Monte Cristo - as a test that my attention span hadn't been completely blown to shit - and in it is a great line about how the gratuitous suffering of his enemies inspires compassion in a reasonable man.

I used to think nothing would be as sweet as the Weavils coming a cropper on their own sizeable hubris and, sure, it was funny for the first couple of years - that pasting from Sydney was insane - but I have just failed to derive the pleasure that the Weavils followers seemed, for example, to derive from our ineptitude.

And you know they'll go straight back to being sizeable campaigners once they come good and we have failed to snag a flag or two in their time among the losers.

Not that Im complaining but what in the holy hell has happened over there in the last 5 years to turn them from an absolute powerhouse to a gigantic shitshow? Honest question: has someone with a vendetta somehow infiltrated them?

What's astounding are the fans that somehow still defend the organisation and cannot admit that they might not have handled the Allen situation particularly well. Allen is 100% right when he talks about how west coast didn't treat him well and all the fans go nuts at him defending the club through sheer nuffiness and cope. They still can't fathom that their football club is being run into the ground

Possibly the only thing on BF that annoys me more than watching Walls trade. WC supporters backing in their club despite being managed as poorly as any history the last 6 years.

Literally the same people will say the club did the right thing pushing him out (they did) while saying Allen had to face the music for meeting with an oppo coach (he absolutely ****ing didnt). Drives me spare.

The whole Allen handling by the club was amateur.

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face. Don Pyke is a deadset plonker who'd struggle in a middle management position. It is the blind leading the blind over there, and most of the supporters just eat whatever shit they are fed.

It is fun to watch Eagle supporters go along to Western Derby matches thinking it might be different this time. Only for Serong to destroy them and win another medal.

I like how Treacy said in a podcast that he takes no pity on the Eagles when we smash them.

You really want to test your attention span have a go at The Silmarillion by Tolkien. Took me months of putting it down and picking it up and I normally devour books.

Reminds me of the old joke

We used to have Empires run by Emperors
Then we had kingdoms run by Kings
Now we have Countries ........
Hahaha... oh I get it. Counts. Good one.
