Why would a club trade for someone about to be delisted that they can get for free?Is that why so many clubs came for him when Carlton told him to look for other opportunities?

Gov will get plenty of game time & likely to be named round 1

It backfires on them if we trade those picks out for more points. Their 13 moves back a real spot.I mean strategic reasons whats stopping the Eagles from purposely bidding on Dean at 2
Eats both our picks and moves their pick 13 into a more favourable pick
This is a competition at the end of the day and we should be prepared for anything and everything
I think he’s lucky based on performance, however to insinuate he’s detrimental to the club culture is drawing a long bow.Absolute insanity to me that McGovern is retained.
To this point, GW and co have been making all the right moves to reset the culture of the club. Very disappointing.
I would've preferred Derksen, Frost, Phillips, Blight, or even ... Mason Cox.
Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I think we may actually trade out of this draft for points and future picks, and only take Dean and Ison in this year's ND. Load up for 2026 and 2027 for trades and picks. It backfires on them if we trade those picks out for more points. Their 13 moves back a real spot.
Can't rule it out with Voss coach. He loves fog.

Cinc was betterI think I’d probably have Fog last on the gen/small fwd pecking order.
He shouldn’t be getting a game ahead of Hayward, Ainsworth, Williams, Moir, Evans, Motlop, Cottrell, Young.
Offer them pick 41 in 2028ok, Eagles bid on Dean with pick 2, what do you reckon we do?
He could possibly have been a decent midfielder but he's not a forwards arseh*le.
what did he say?
I listened to it but cant recall anything contreversial, but I was a bit zzzz

Nah, was being glib. You really think we won't bother to match it?
Nah, was being glib.
I think it’s more likely that the Eagles will try to extort us, rather than bidding at 2. Would be a genuinely massive call, given he seems to generally be rated in the 2nd half of the top 10.
It might depend on if they actually bid on Uwland/Annabel/Patterson first, which would open up more options for us to trade down for points.
I doubt they'll bid on every academy and F/S player.
That would leave a bad taste...
I think they'll go Duursma with pick 1, Uwland bid pick 2, then take Robey or CDT with pick 3.
Then the Tigers bid on Patterson and end up taking Robey/X.Taylor + Grlj.
Bombers then bid on Annable, take Cumming, then bid on Dean.
If it plays out like that, my guess at the moment would be we just match with 12, and keep 14 which slides to 18.
Slightly different situations id have thought
Ah Chee is from WA and is moving to SA for a bigger paycheck at another contender.Yeah different situations all right... he wants to go home for family reasons... which is totally reasonable and understandable unlike the Clownow having a cry... but yeah let's draft him against his will because we're in the flag window next couple years aren't we...
