The rule is 3x ND selections, though rookie upgrades count towards this total - not that we'll be upgrading any rookies this year.

With Ah Chee and 3x ND selections, that doesn't leave any room for PSSP signings.

Any chance the AFL will relax the rule this year because Geelong have a list squeeze and don't want to take 3 picks?

Given we've failed to to entice a best 22 midfielder this trade period and instead of reverting to the same old, same old like Laird and Keays why not give Hugh Bond a game or three in Berry's place in the midfield even if it's only as the defensive mid, no way Newcombe etc get too much easy pill on him.

Unless we start playing a hard tag looking at Bond over those guys would be silly.

Tyler Welsh averaged more goals than Toby Murray in the SANFL this year

Need to give him at least a few more years, especially as our development is questionable to say the least

I spoke to one of his junior coaches earlier in the year who said if he can get his body and mind right he will be a better than average player at the top level. He has the natural instinct and aggression and just needs the fitness and maturity.

He’s a long term project. Needs at least 4 to 5 years in an afl environment.

Dowling's contested game is not good enough to play inside mid at AFL level and Draper was a mile off it this season, maybe he will be after a full unhindered preseason in 2026, Edwards hasn't played any AFL and to all intentions and purposes he's being developed as a half back going on his 2025 season.....IMO.

We're not delisting contracted player/s, they'd have to be paid out then we'd have to pony up for the player/s we brought in as well.

It’s the correct approach though. Delisting a contracted player, paying them out, just to be able to bring in a speculative selection is a recipe for a salary cap disaster.
