With 4 more games before the finals for the Bombers and Wonders, and the Bombers in 9th place and 14% behind the Wonders in 8th place, a win for the Wonders next Sunday should have the final 8 places set in concrete.
So what you're saying is if you win, then we also win? :eyes:

Well! Let’s hope the Bombers ruin that happiness 😂

True. But I think updates on on Weekly and Seasonal stats were always such a great sight to see - I say this with absolutely no ulterior motive other than my own amusement :)
Cool - when will you be posting them?

I question their legitimacy. Give me stats please.
Well, yes, those figures need updating since I posted them a little while ago - but they won't be far off the mark either way.

Welcome Hawks!

Here's an important stat for you: two match threads with 171 pages combined, four match threads with 67 combined, engagement seems to be a problem for a large number of Clubs, and the lack of it doesn't help in maintaining the interest of, especially the newer, members of the league.

Cool stat.

Engagement is important but it's largely posters from spammy teams that seem most hung up on it. Something the engagement squad is just going to have to learn to accept is that not everyone shares the same desire to post as much as them and that is fine. To constantly hear that the level of engagement isn't enough is as much of a turn off for some as posting against the quieter teams is. Teams like OOB or posters like DP really throw out the stats I reckon and not everyone has the energy to turn this into a full time job just to match their output.

Personally if the Gumbies posted as much as the oob or Bombers I'd drop right off. Due to work and life I struggle to keep up in threads against the high count teams and it's just not enjoyable sometimes, even if I like the posters. I honestly and genuinely mean no offence but the amount of low effort, low quality posts from some of those teams is outrageous and I think is equally detrimental to engagement. Maybe we should focus on quality over quantity because the quality has for damned sure dropped off in my short time in the league.

I'm not denying trends in intake or anything, but we lower post count people exist and shouldn't be fingerwagged at for not playing with the spammy teams at a level to their liking. I say all that but I do think this is one of my bigger output seasons in years probably partly because match threads feel less suffocatingly oversaturated lately.

Good thing you changed your handle from "Chat Pile." 😹

I enjoy you and the rest of the Gumbos, and agree that posting #/% is easy to measure therefore overemphasized. However, I challenge anyone making the "quality > quantity" argument to accompany that with specific examples.

After all, "quantity" is an objective measurement, while "quality" means whatever the claimant wishes it to mean. One poster's "quality" can be another's "repulsion," and until we agree on our terms, those are equally compelling positions.

I'm not suggesting that anybody posts at the same levels as anyone, but I just find that in many match threads now, there's very little engagement compared to when I first started.

I posted around 40 times in the last match thread, and that's one of my bigger efforts for the season, so I'm not in the what you would call 'spammy' myself. There's a long way from 'spammy' to not engaging.

I've never been big on judging teams or players by posting numbers big or small as long as they occasionally post, I tell my team all the time just post when you want and keep it fun don't make it a burden or job. The issue for engagement shouldn't be measured by high posting numbers or quality media etc., but certainly by whether players show up e.g. players who don't post certainly can go in the poor engagement category.

Currently Hawks, Furies, Gumbies and Dragons are running at 50% or lower of team engagement eg players who have posted under 10 times this season. That is an issue and why when teams who have more than half their team not posting against teams that have the majority of their team posting probably feel bombarded because of weight of numbers. Teams like OOB and Bombers tend to start posting amongst themselves when playing teams like the gumbies because there are no gumbies to post with and hence when you do decide to come online you face pages of one-sided chat and that would not be exciting. The solution to this is not to try and match output of a heavy posting team but what would help is if teams actually had players that posted and not leave the burden on 9 or so players. Personally I don't mind playing the teams that dont post much as it gives a break from the more active weeks and lets me focus on what else is happening around the traps. But while we have a third of the comp (ESH, FUR, GUM, DRA) with less than half their players engaging in this forum we will be complaining about engagement.

That is a very good point well made, Brak.

Nah fair enough, I may have took your post as more judgemental then intended 😆

That's all completely fair enough I just think it's important to consider that there are people who engage without posting in match threads. We have at least two who pretty much post more in the PM than match threads, one hasn't posted in a single match thread this season yet they remain engaged in a level that suits them. Saying "e.g. players who don't post certainly can go in the poor engagement category." I feel like that's confusing engagement with interaction and somewhat disregards an individuals own preference for involvement. I just don't think it's quite as black and white as match thread involvement = engagement, as silly as that may sound.
