How dangerous are Sydney now they've landed Curnow?

Does the acquisition of Curnow now make Sydney a contender?

It's so damn predictable...The AFL clearly needed a marquee forward at the Sydney Swans and Curnow was the guy.

Was Curnow truly unhappy or was he pushed by the AFL towards Sydney?

Remember this isn't a coincidence...the Sydney public have always loved a big key forward, even going right back to the Plugger days.
Sure

How many times do we have to go over it.

The number one reason for northern academies is to grow the overall talent and player pool. Not equalisation.

WA academies soon then given the game is going backwards?

Makes sense.

The AFL saw the record attendances and membership numbers we've had post-Franklin and concluded that we were failing without a Marquee forward so they bullied Curnow into signing for us and even made sure we only had to hand over 3 first rounders and 2 players.

You need a fair few hands to count the amount of games where he went missing.... that's a fact.

The good players have the occasional lower impact game. The greats have a rare one. Heeney has far too many to be anything but an average player.
Utter, yet predictable, garbage from a consistently anti-Bloods tool polisher. Sydney may well miss finals, but it won’t be due to a poor midfield and it especially won’t be because Heeney’s an average player.

Grundy is Sydney's best player but even he can't do it alone.

RECIDIVIST.

Having said that brain matter should be taken into account.

What is it with Sydney and poaching star forwards but never winning a premiership? Like Lockett and Franklin. The only time it worked out was with Barry Hall.

Lockett turned up 1995 they played in the GF in 1996. He done his part and also kicked 6 on the day just beaten by a better side on the day. He was a major factor in having the supporter base in Sydney we do today. Hall was a premiership captain in 2005. Franklin arrived 2014 we played in GF and shit bed. 2016 GF he was hobbled in the first 5 minutes and the rest let’s not go there. 2022 GF shit the bed but would not have beaten the winners anyway. All of three have been major factors in making those 5 GF’s so they have been worth every penny. Club just have to find a way of putting the cream on the cake on the big day. Curnow will have his say on our fortunes in the next couple of years you can be sure of it.

I for one hope he is not pigeon-holed as he was at Carlton under Voss.

Curnow has the ability to play on the wing and even through the midfield at times. Much more versatile than many key forwards.
Yeah I'm personally looking forward to his work between the arcs more than anything. We desperately need a mobile marking target who can also deliver the ball inside 50. Amartey can be the stay at home forward (when he's fit).
