Stop underselling Reid. He’s more than a role player. Why can’t Reid be the number 1 in a midfield? Showed more in his first year than any other draftee. I don’t mind our draftees(Smillie etc) being supported but this crap of saying long term Reid will not be a gun is garbage. If we had drafted him Richmond supporters would be proclaiming him as the best, rightly or wrongly.
No... Lalor's rating per game the best of the draftees... in an ordinary side too.

Reid will always be a classy finisher. Will he ever be a dominant mid? Jury is out. No knock on Reid but not what you spend a top 10 pick on with the information at hand at that time.

Xavier Taylor doing his impersonation of a brick wall here, constantly repelling opposition attacks. He was a thorn in the Rebels side all game and played a key role in a big win for Eastern.

i dont see a top 5 pick there in any conceivable way.

Broad-like. Not worth pick 4.

no you wrote that, I did not say it.

Do you realise Dimma has never won a premiership as head coach without Dusty?

what do you think I am trying to write???

could it be RFC where never going to win without a Dusty coming along because we simply could not identify talent well enough in the drafts and had to rely on a freak like Dusty to give us a massive leg up?

do you realise apart from the Dusty premierships RFC has never won a day time premiership in the AFL/VFL since the inception of the draft? I am not making this up, it is the truth/facts. What do you think that means?? I am not at the club, I and not pointing people out I am just writing those are the facts, nothing personal, no relationship inquiry here, I am well outside although a supporter, do you think there is a reason behind it?

here are some more facts Apart from Salmon and Fletcher, two freaks that where tall Essendon won premierships with one of the greatest ruckman in footy history in Simon Madden. So if Essendon are chasing CDT do you think they are clueless?

When Richmond won in the 1970's 80 we had a good ruckman in the General, Mark Lee. we had good talls, Nankervis is no scrub I do not think

this is part of our history DNA. Are there reasons why this is so? Can improvements be made??? can we be better??? can we help ourselves improve what we do to help us win more premierships??? do we want to win more premierships??? I want to win more premierships, do you want to win more premierships???
Our dynasty team has 3 x locks for the hall of fame outside Dusty : Rance, R

Tigers dynasty will result in 3 x locked and loaded Hall of Famers outside Dusty: Cotchin, Riewoldt and Rance.

Then a bunch who ‘might’ be hall of famers : Edwards, Vlastuin and Lynch.

Dusty was critical to our flags, but we didn’t have a percentage in finals of nearly 200% during our flag years thanks to one man.

Anyone had a chance to look at next year draftees this year? That will have some impact on who we might draft....

I don't know if it's just me but I feel like he takes a very long time to decide who to kick or handball it too, at least in the videos I've seen of him

What information? His stats were top class.

Watched XT videos for hours today. Conclusion he is ok nothing flash. His kicking is quite dicey he can really miss a target at times. He competes very hard and has very good agility.
Nothing stands out about him plus he is a In between size. OT a far superior player what a gun !
No way we use a top pick on XT.
The club would have watched him play numerous times and I’m sure won’t be making any decisions based purely on highlight packages.

If you’re going to compare the highlights package of a general defenders to almost any other position it’s going to look lacklustre.

We currently have a lot of options down back and are missing a lot of speed so i appreciate the argument he might not currently be the right option, but having a conclusion he’s only “ok” based on a YouTube video seems a bit of a reach.

I guess that's my main thinking at the moment.
Will there be another Sharp we can draft next year? I'm guessing probably.
So.. Grlj, Robey, CDT, XTaylor... which is the rarest type to not be able to get in the next draft or two?
I'm not sold on XTaylor. But Vlastuin has been an absolute lock in our team over the last 10 years. But, so has the much later pick Broad..... What actual level do we think he is at and how rare is it?
Grlj, how rare is his skillset?
Probably likely that Robey & CDT's ceiling is the rarest and worth shooting for?

Vlastuin and Broad are not the same level of player

I don’t think (if this was the option) that I would pass up on taking a Vlastuin early because I could get a Broad later

I know this may not totally answer your question but it’s a good point you raise.

Next year’s crop that we have access to is why I’m not fearful on taking 2 x bigger bodied mids this year.

Tanner Armstrong - NGA, has speed

Archie Daffy - F/S, has speed and is developing as a mid

Jack Leys - F/S, has speed and is looking to move onto the wing to utilise his pace.

Looking at next year there seems to be a few more ‘Grjl’ types from what I’ve seen. The only Sharp/Robey type is Robinson who is an NGA for Freo.

Early call but I think Williams will project to be a better player than Grjl!

I’m crushing hard on Neocleous. Would love to have that campaigner type that’s highly skilled forward with stints on ball. Him and Hotton would wax so good that Mr Miyagi would be proud.
