Possibly 8 or 9 spots, I think they may trade it back (if they want to match kellaway) and grab a future. They (Rich) have an understanding with Louis, whether or not that is 'we will match a bid only after a certain point' or just 'we will only rookie you if you get through the ND' i don't know.
WIth 6 players already gone, only 1 has come in therefore 5 spots with 3 picks. They are very likely to leave a spot open for 2026's MSD, leaving 4 spots, 3 picks. Two early picks then trade the other back for two later ones to get your third player and then wait to see if you need to match kellaway is a safe way to go. Using the first pick, then trading the second back a little, grabbing a future first and grabbing an extra late pick this year would be a great win and make kellaway a sure thing if they definitely want him.
Eg. trade 4 to melbourne for 8, 66 and the 2026 first tied to g.c, if melbourne really want to get ahead of essendon for someone they like.
Dow and Sonsie unsigned, so likely to be delisted which would mean Richmond has 32 senior players and 4 rookies signed for 2026 with a cat B rookie.

Richmond will have to elevate Seth Campbell so that will be 33 senior players and 3 rookies plus a CatB rookie going into the draft.

And that's why I'm thinking if they don't swap anything, they may rookie Zayden as that young developing def, slight chance, but a chance nonetheless
Apparently we have told Zayden we want to see him do it in the VFL for a year. I think we should take him now personally.

Great effort mate and very different with the trades

just on Richmond Melb trade cant say im unhappy with the outcome as it fills some needs with outside run and speed and adding Taylor (HBF) but disappointed no true mid.

MELB SWAP 10 AND MELB FUTURE 1ST TO RICH FOR 6 AND RICH FUTURE 2ND AND 3RD just wondering the need for the F3 ? and with Richmond having a few academy/FS kids next year that probably wont be top 10 where the Melb/Rich 1st rounders fall do you believe we will avoid Armstrong /Daffy / Leys ?

Do you think Richmond bid on Dean that early?

I just think, and richmond have said, they will not do a trade unless you can really turn their head, and i think this would do it, melbourne get their man, and richmond get their future they are after. With the response of next year, you can do a lot with 2 firsts, ie trade, pick swap, set yourself up in a position to get your guys.

not overly sure, but a whisper is they might. it just fell that way at the time i was doing this. which, by the way, was completed over a week ago and each day since i have tweaked it, changed it, then just uploaded it.

Thanks for doing the mock draft btw!

Disaster for West Coast if this comes to pass.

Move back in the draft to get a HBF who should still be available at our original pick. Can't see us passing on Cumming if available.

Then taking an NGA player without a bid when better players are available.
Each to their own, I have heard they like farrow a lot, and you also would trade if it gave you 3 top ten picks. That is the likleist of options and you get to choose who you like before they get snapped up. Granted, I could see Cumming being an option though. With tylah, that was explained at the beginning...with only so many list spots and wce expected to only take 4 in the ND, he was grabbed there. There is also a chance he is bid on before that meaning you match for that spot anyway. Then you rookie, Banfield, Evans, walley, and sign some dfa's

I think they should but who knows f they will

With the speculation about Taylor if correct and Richmond are considering a defender at an early selection then it just makes sense to bid on the defender that is rated the highest in the draft as well as Deam being 2-3cm taller and 9 months younger you would think he is a better prospect with more development in him being younger and fits a list need ( if the taylor thing is true)

You mean Jacob Farrow? From several media stories, both Hawks and Giants are interested in him, so there's a significant chance he's gone by your original pick #13. Hence why (per news stories) Eagles are interested in moving that pick earlier.

But if Eagles actually rate Sam Cumming above Jacob Farrow, then they'd obviously take him and forego Farrow. But the pick swap itself is fine as that could be achieved.

AS always, lots of different perceptions of who clubs should select.

I think he will get through to the rookie draft to be honest, if he is bid on late in the draft it won't cost anything to match, so they will.
With only 50-55 players selected in this draft i agree kellaway gets through to Rookie draft
Now i have seen some players like Kellaway if gets through to become Cat B rookies does this also apply to Kellaway ?

If the eagles trade pick 2 then you'd hope they dont take farrow that high with cumming, dovaston and shubert still available. Especially cumming
You'd almost go as far as to say there's no benefit to making that picks trade in the first place

Good summary.

However I believe WC have 5 spots available so would look to use that pick 30 on a 'live' pick.

Unless we believe Banfield or Evans are also getting a bid which seems doubtful.

Anyway good job, I rate Farrow just not for West Coasts needs with the potential talent available.

Great effort. But purely from a crows perspective, if we traded a F1 with pick 16 to draft Shubert, I'd cry..literally. It would be a horrendous waste for us when we need the midfielders especially with Cumming right there still on the board and we would need to take an extra pick with Welsh being rookied.

He was very strongly considered, and might be the one they want, but eventually I prioritised kpf as a higher need.

Fair enough - its your thread after all :)
Let's face it, it is all probably going to be way off anyway. But the reason I went kpf is because Tex has been a servant but is playing his last year, Welsh is no good and Thilthorpe is a 1 out beast. Getting that second mobile kpf with great hands would allow Thilthorpe and eventually Schubert to rotate helping out in the ruck, as you are also 1 out in that department. The new rules of play would benefit the team balance in this case also and mids are found everywhere every year, and this year's mids I don't rate as highly as last year's or next year's, but big, mobile kpfs with great hands and aggressiveness towards the contest are more rare, and if they are available at a time of need then grab them. I know you got finbar maley but, cmon. I'm sure you guys may be having a crack at zac Bailey and/or Sam Walsh next year perhaps too.
