Geez there are some dodgy player managers..

Ok, so supposedly they were once close friends, and yet when Pendlebury gave him $300,000 he decided to charge him interest of 50%. WTF!

Not sure how the player manager never thought he would be caught. What was he spending the $2.6m on? A sporting franchise, one way to lose money.

Wasn't there a club maybe couple of players that were looked at for giving high interest loans? Bit of salary cap tomfoolery.

While it could be suspicious, Buckley worked as hard as anyone

More than suspicious.

I worked with a guy who was a body builder, super serious type. Even though he ate a massive protein diet (lots of steaks and sausages etc and took powders, he was adamant you only get so big, no matter how hard you train. There are genetics for like the brick shithouse sort of guys but physiques where the guy is ripped with less than 10% body fat and muscles on muscles...they are on the juice

That explains why I’m a lean mean fighting machine 😁

I was at the Lakers VS Heat game and for a bottle of coke it's $11USD after tax .

Roughly $15 AUD a bottle 😳

Maybe I'll stop complaining now about the Adelaide Oval prices.
One of my guilty pleasures is watching those "cost of living gone mad" reaction videos on youtube. Shit is ****ed over there.

Yeah it's ridiculous over here, we've only been in LA so far, but the prices are ridiculous.

$9.50 USD for a can of Lynx (called Ax here).

At Crypto Arena my wife and I bought 2 hotdogs, a cup of fries, popcorn and two bottles of coke and after tax it was around $85 USD.

I've actually not really seen nothing here that is cheaper than Australia. Food and everything is more expensive, maybe it's LA prices, who knows?

Food and drink is crazy expensive at that arena.

You’ll find some things are cheaper than Oz….heavily dependent on location and what you’re buying.

Where else are you going?

Going to Vegas tomorrow, then San Francisco, San Diego, Philly, Pittsburgh, New York, Washington and Boston.

The Vegas Sphere is something want to see.

All good cities and all varied with exception Pittsburgh (which I haven’t been to). Going to any NBA, NFL or NHL games?
I went to the Lakers V Heat game tonight, going to see the 49ers VS Rams next weekend at Santa Clara, going to see the 76ers in Philly and the Jets VS Rams when we're in New York.

I have a friend who I met online about five years ago who lives in Pittsburgh so I'm going there to meet up with him.

We stayed in Hollywood so going to Downtown LA tonight to see the Lakers was an experience. It's definitely an example of the haves and have nots

My gut feel is that Pendle’s funds were set aside for short-term high interest lending and old mate had full control. So it would be normal for funds to be moved out without Pendle’s direct action. And the 50% interest rate wouldn’t be far from the penalty rate in loan agreements with lenders of last resort.

Missus was over in Dallas and New York a couple of months ago and found pricing to be pretty normal. Found wine in hotels very expensive, but not in bottle shops and pubs. Stadiums are high end gougers, it’s really quite obscene what they get away with.
