Only reinforces my belief we must take him if he’s available at our selection. Seems a born leader willing to do whatever it takes to be the best player he can. Sounds like he’d be a very loyal type too, 200+ games barring injury.
From a post by Tigerbob sounds like we have put a fair bit of work into Sharp. Really hope we pick him.
Imagine having a midfield of Lalor, Hotton, Smillie, Sharp and perhaps Robey (although I’m not as sold on him, sorry). Just need to find a decent ruck and we’d be well on our way to our next premiership imo.

Don’t want sharp. Has just been ordinary/ok at SAFL. I think he’ll just be a battler in the AFL.

According to Draftguru Suns have 31 senior listed, 4 rookies & 2 Cat B for the 2026 season which gives them 5-7 spots at the draft to fill, so they're going to need to get creative to acquire enough points to match all their academy kids this year.

Even if the Suns had enough points to match on all their academy players, I don't see them drafting all of them in the national draft. They might pick up the ones that don't get drafted onto their rookie list, but past Uwland and Patterson, I just don't see why they will match on Addinsall, Coulson, and Murray.

I don't mind him; I'd prefer Robey & Taylor (I've come round to him the past few weeks)

If we end up getting 2 of Sharp, CDT, Cumming, Grlj then i won't be fumin. However, I would be really disappointed if we got both Taylor & Grlj together. I want a pure mid with 1 of our 2 picks.

Carlton get pick 5, 30 and 38
We get pick 6 and 9

We get Robey, Taylor and Grlj/Cumming.

I think both of Tigs and Dons would do this assuming CDT is their man.

Blues though I’m not sure on, I understand they get a player before Dean at pick 5, but will those other picks be enough to ensure they don’t eat a deficit next year when they need em for Cody Walker?

Exactly, and he’s been the dominant junior for two years. Always take best available and Sharp has been the best.

He is not just a KPD and there is only 2 cm difference between Dean (193cm) & Taylor (191cm)
He is younger and also can play the intercept role as well as having good leap
