where the picks land it wont but in answering the question, if a young key defender is the top guy on your board then you take himcan't see that happening this year
You take him if he is clearly the best at that pick. This is precisely why going to the draft for us isn't ideal. Drafting is about the future and we want mids now. We have every draft pick ranked and will go down the list. Each club will have their own listwhat if the best player available at 10 is a key defender?
In hindsight we should have kept 31,42 & 43( 800 pts) and could have traded them for one of pick 23 or 24( around 620 pts).so confusing, I do not understand any of this, we had picks 9, 31, 42, 43, perhaps in hindsight we would have kept all those as you are saying there will be good players later on and difference between pick 9 and 10 is alot whereas later on not as much, although picks 42 & 43 are more risky. So perhaps what you are saying is trading pick 10 for 2 later picks, having 3 picks in top 25. I would be surprised, I think one of targets like sharp/farrow/cumming should be still there at pick 10. if you give example of players that will be available later on will help, but anyway we do not have pick 31, 42, 43 anymore, you would have to trade with someone again.

This draft is pretty even all the list managers and draft watchers have mentioned thisIn hindsight we should have kept 31,42 & 43( 800 pts) and could have traded them for one of pick 23 or 24( around 620 pts).
Would have meant we kept pick 9 and picked a better player. Now we risk Blues trading pick 9 to any one of Blues/Scum etc.
Fingers crossed CDT slides or if Grlj does then we either pick him or some other club who want him offer their F1(+later pick for Top 10 clubs)
Greeves isn’t the quickest, but people acting like he runs like Mumford are mistaken
Has poor defensive transition
all I hear is negative comments about him, why do we want him? he is slow, cannot defend, is not a contested beast.Greeves isn’t the quickest, but people acting like he runs like Mumford are mistaken
Has poor defensive transition
keeps people interested and talking footy in the period between the trade period and the start of training when there isn't any footy happeningBroader draft question - why is it always so late in November? I am presuming it has something to do with schooling being over by then? Otherwise it doesn't make sense being so far off the rest of the off-season list management time period and almost 2 months after the combine.
Unless it’s Cal Twoomey I would not take too much notice!Hun phantom today has Grlj sliding to our first pick.
I would take Grlj if he was still there just the type we need going forward.Sorry for dropping in unannounced.
As a Tiges fan, I'm obviously looking at our 1st 2 picks (of which I think Robey and Cumming suit us the most), but if Grlj was still there at your 1st pick, what would the Tiges need to trade for it in your opinions? Clearly our F1 wouldn't be on the table, but I'd say our F2 might be. What else would we need to use to top that up?
My thinking if the Hawks may be willing to consider a trade being as it gives the Hawks more trade capital to go into next years trade period with, obviously Merrett might still want out, there's Butters and I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks had a crack at Noah Anderson a year out from his contract expiring.
that is hillarious, I thought only reason going near him is that he is a contested beast in mould of worpel, if not, why would you go near him, add to fact he is meant to be slow, we are after a classy midfielder that can win his own footy, distribute and negate others walking out of centre square when we do not have the footy, you need speed for that too as well as good hands, foot skills.
The only reason we would trade our pick 10 into next year would be to get a F1. Why would we (or any team) want a F2 and change for a top 10 pick.Sorry for dropping in unannounced.

That’s about as good a draft as hawks could wish for.. The AFL would demand a do over to ensure the Hawks didn’t get a leg up if it went that way on the night..here is Superfooty/CodeSports Phantom Draft

Looks the goods here! Don’t think we’ll need to worry though. Can’t see him lasting to our pick. You will be more impressed with his frwd craft in the highlights, he's very good. AA frwd to boot. But as a inside mid ? Way too high draft capital. Plenty of other options unless you're getting him as a frwd as much as a mid.
Would be a great haul but that’s not realistic. To trade into any draft in for a specific player especially early you pay a high price. 10 for 22 wouldn’t even get past the AFLs lack of governance and we would have no interest unless f1 involved.Sorry for dropping in unannounced.

How about swap of F1's, F2, swap of F3 & F4.

If the Hawks want to load up for trading in 2026, and the Tigers want a sliding Grilj at our selection, then this feels OK:Would be a great haul but that’s not realistic. If you traded 38 and f1 for 10 and our f2 that would be in the ball park. You get Grlj and have 2 future seconds to trade back into round 1 and we get a pick this year we can use on a speculative pick and a good first to draft well or bundle for a play at butters etc.
