According to the DM reporter Jonica Bray, Gus’ mum, baby brother and dad left the area some time ago and their whereabouts are unknown to the people she spoke to that are allegedly friends of the dad. Dad Josh has allegedly not been seen staying at his Belalie North property since the disappearance either. But I guess a good friend wouldn’t tell a reporter too much anyway, one would hope.
I hadn't read that to be honest and stand corrected then if true.

Can anyone find where Bulyninnie Station near Yunta is?
There was a siege there in 2009 where a criminal (pedophile) shot an officer and stole a car and drove to this station and sexually assaulted a 70 year old woman then shot himself dead.
That poor lady, I hope she’s had good support.

But thankfully her assailant did the world a favour & shot himself, he’s one we no longer have to worry about !

This is so damn sad and uncanny I`m not closed to the possibility of something happening that belongs to realms outside everyday, rational experience. There have been such cases, rare as they are.

On the balance of probability there`s been human involvement. I know how I`d feel if I had nothing to do with a child member of my family disappearing so strangely - anybody under those circumstances who is innocent would feel terrible enough without others blaming them.

However, a family member or members knowing what happened because one or more were involved is a possibility that can`t be ruled out. Of course the police are not talking publicly about that possibility for a number of reasons including this is how good detective work is done. The extensive searching has found nothing, a plausible reason is something happened to Gus and he was taken away by somebody who is not part of the family or somebody who is.

For me the lack of footprints, clothing, some significant physical evidence in tracks apart from fox tracks etc indicates Gus could have been physically lifted into a vehicle and taken off the property. And I don`t think a questioning of the timeframe narrative can be ruled out if what in fact the police are dealing with is a suspected crime.

It`s possible Gus `disappeared`well before the authorities were notified. Such as in timelines like a week before or more. That would explain the lack of evidence. It`s hard to think of this but family/friends/acquaintances are often involved in missing children`s cases. There have been cases where children were accidentally killed, the fact concealed and the situation being reported as a disappearance.

The police have to be considering this, bad as the implications are.
I find it interesting that these Searches are still being led by Major Crime unit, not Missing Persons etc.

Major Crime team usually investigate crimes like homicides, drug activity, organised crime and fraud, child exploitation, sexual offences and paedophile activity.

Major Crime Investigation Branch investigate homicides, suspicious deaths, long-term missing persons, cold cases, and serious criminal conspiracies.
Homicide, and Missing Persons are both functional areas or teams within MCIB—not separate branches. MCIB oversees and deploys resources to these investigations as needed.

So he says, has anyone asked Mum if she's keen to go?
If the reno is livable for him, why not the whole Family?
So many unasked/unanswered questions.

Im not saying im right, just that its a scenario that could fit the given narrative.
I read he was working on the bathroom, so maybe not liveable yet for a young family.

If it was my son missing supposedly lost on the property I wouldn't have budged - I'd be still out combing the property. However, maybe it was better move to leave..... it may have prevented fights with the grandparents.
Maybe DOCS recommended Jess and Ronnie leave.

IMO

I think child safety undertook a risk assessment and realised it wasn’t safe for Ronnie to stay at Oak Park.

Whatever befell Gus, who’s to say it would not also take out little Ronnie?

Plus leaving and staying somewhere safe would have the added bonus of not having to worry about media fronting up at their home.

IMO

The population around the area is dwindling and it's not because of drought issues
That’s a common situation in pretty much all of ‘true rural’ Australia.

The advancements in travel modes, ie the motor vehicle, allowed people to go further for necessities. They then started shopping outside of their ‘local’ township. .. so larger towns eventually grew into area hubs, eventually forcing the closure of small town grocers, bakers, clothing & haberdashery, cafe, picture theatre, dance halls, banks, stock & station agents etc.

I know this from personal experience, and it’s actually quite sad. Aside from the emotional feelings for what was once, it also means that there is Nothing for those who remain. The kids have no local employment, no fun entertainment etc, other than the pub - they survive til the end !

Sniffer dogs have failed to pick up a trail, and the terrain — while seemingly open — has proven “deceptively large and challenging,” Stevens said.
I imagine they were legit trained sniffer dogs, but the BBM comment is interesting. Is Steven’s saying the dogs detected Gus’s scent around the place, but were unable to find it elsewhere / follow it leaving ?

Reminds me of William Tyrrell - they supposedly lost his scent at the boundary of the property.

Whoever used the word ‘weird’ 👍

Not to the authorities, but to the Father.

If he was that concerned about things that it became public knowledge he obviously held genuine concerns.
So an accident as I've suggested, in the minds of Mum and Grandmas x2, may be enough to bring that to a head and something they wanted to avoid.

I get the impression that Mum is content out there and in no real hurry to move.
Maybe she’s been told she has to do her share of the work if she’s to inherit the place one day. Maybe Shannon is no longer up to doing the farm work. … who knows. I think her parents were married in 1948, so she could be getting on in years.

Maybe Mum was scared of Joshua’s reaction if something happened?
Maybe Mum / Jess was scared of Josie’s reaction.

We heard she was very clever scholastically, and also very quiet. Gus was also described as being very quiet. To be honest, the only one we’ve truely ‘heard’ is Josie.

There was a TV interview with a mate of the Dad, Joshua. They had been searching the property together, along with dozens of SES, police and army. Pretty much the biggest search ever done in SA. The bloke said he didn't think there was any way Gus was still on the property. I think he meant alive or dead. Which leads one to think if Gus didn't just wander off and could be found where he died, then the only rational explanation is foul play.

Why has Gus' mother Jess left her home with the younger son Ronnie, and never once addressed the media?

No scent of Gus, even from the dirt mound he was reported playing in last....I'm finding it all hard to fit into a scientific narrative.
