PARISH DETERMINED TO REMAIN A DON

Darcy Parish is going nowhere, having returned from an injury-management trip to Baltimore determined to hit back hard after an injury-riddled 2025 season.

Essendon is adamant that Parish and forward Kyle Langford are content and not looking for trades despite the torrid injury toll that saw them miss so many games.

Essendon has made clear it will not trade Merrett, but key back Jordan Ridley would like a fresh start if the club could broker a trade.

There were fears it might spark a run on the club’s star players, with more then looking to get out to clubs which are in the finals window.

But those close to Parish have made clear he is not keen to jump ship to a rival like Geelong.

He is keen to crack in and have a better season after taking away plenty from his trip to Baltimore after a season ruined by back concerns and repeated calf tears.

Top ten draft pick Elijah Tsatas also looks likely to remain at the club, with Essendon keen to hold him to his deal and little interest in him outside the club so far.

The Dons believe that he was unlucky this season – injured after his best game of the year then unable to break into the team when its mids were up and running then injured again when the midfield was decimated.

Jaxon Prior and Liam McMahon have won new deals along with Lachie Blakiston and Todd Goldstein is keen to play on.

With shiel and merret gone, big opportunity for parish to get back to 2021. Can't play in same mid with them but could play the main accumulator role. Who else do we have? A 2025 pick? Tsatas?

Mcgrath would need to remain at hbf as one b - grade accumulator is enough in any midfield.

Probably our best option to ensure competitiveness and still a bottom 3 finish without merret. Might build his value.

He's waiting for Geelong

An injury prone player with a huge contract. Likely has negative trade value right now.

With Zerrett gone (along with Sheil and probably Hobbs) it opens up big minutes for him if he can stay healthy.

Have a good season, repair his trade value and see where things sit in 12 months is the only sensible option

I really hope they get his body right. Hopefully he's practiced his kicking a little over the last 12 months . Some players just can't master the art of kicking. Its not the ball drop it's anticipating where to kick it to when players are leading.
I think he gets scrutinized to much here, he's a good player when he's up and running

If by crack you mean repeating what he thought his strengths were as an 18 year old, and how they turned into his main weaknesses, then I guess so yeh
I can’t even remember what he looks like.
