I am agreed, in this game vs Brisbane it was probably her best game as she was involved in the play a lot which is why i put her in my bests at the time. The rest of the year, eh asides from two good quarters against the pies. Bannan appears to be playing a key role, in a side that has Zanker and Harris in it. She's also not overly physical, her best attributes are her speed for her size which in her position isn't being used, i saw her take the game on with a bounce vs brisbane this year and that was it. Love her, but she is out wrestled far to easily and it's not very often she'll win a contested ground ball either, she's more likely to give up front position for a ball in dispute and push her opponent into the contest where they'll win it. In the marking contest she is polar opposite to Zanker with how she positions and uses her body. I'm probably being overly critical because she's my favourite and also being very honest here I do exactly the same stuff in local footy too and i frustrate myself to no end giving up the contest (not intentionally), so it's equally frustrating to see her do it

McNamara honestly seems fine? She is running up the wings well and covering a lot of ground, getting plenty of the football. The only issue i have with her is her disposal
Agree re Bannan. Has the frame of a key forward but not really filled out that way or the mentality. Very quick but doesn't quite have the agility and cleanliness off the deck to match. Maybe a wing or roaming HF is best for her. Her runs can be really good at opening up attacks.

Agree of McNamara. Her work rate both ways is amazing but agree her disposal can be meh

Finally got around to watching the 'Forged in Red & Blue' Documentary. Watching that, seeing it used at training this week. I think the AFLW program is really the only part of the club that uses the term 'Demon Spirit' a lot but also genuinely. Seems to be a lot more engrained as a word that's part of the culture

North are stupidly good and near fully fit. Hawthorn are missing several key players and fallen out of form late in the year. Not surprising they were put to the sword like that.

North going 2 years unbeaten is pretty outrageous and kinda shit look, but they've taken several years of building (and underperforming) to get here.

As if North needed any more motivation against the Hawks , the snub the week before meant they were going to smash them in the final , and they did .

Good start, Brisbane defence caught napping early

O'Heir nice simple mark at half back in her first final
O'Heir with a good almost Jetta like one on one win there too

Take aways from quarter one

Look clean asides from the Paxman fumble
Tackling has been elite and aggressive
Bannan for some reason seems to be more lively against the lions
Defence is well set, Harris around chf has also been a good cut off for Brisbane exiting defence
O'Heir has started well adjusted to the pace of a final, Rigoni on the other hand looks caught out a couple of times
Not messing around, have our A team around the ball to start the game
