Wearing red white and blue, calling ourselves the Bulldogs (and before that the Prince Imperials though nothing to do with Britain) and being historically a Protestant club means we’re starting behind every other club if we want to attract Gaelic footballers.

They shouldn’t really be obstacles in the 21st century but they don’t exactly scream “destination club” if you happen to come from Kerry, Cork or Tipperary!

Maybe get the Celtic Club as a sponsor

Anyone heard anything about why Spangher left, and whether there is anyone scoped to replace him? The way some of these coaches have left the club in recent times leaves a lot to be desired. I don't care that they leave, but fk me, to continually do so just before preseason is absolutely poor form. Also, is Mitchell becoming the biggest flog of a coach in record time? Hardwick had the mantle, along with Lyon, but Mitchell is a deadset flog.

Mitchell was so arrogant as a player, it doesn’t surprise me how he goes about it as a coach, him and Mackie cut from the same cloth.

Were we able to get the picks, I would grab both Dovaston and Picket. Picket and West running around the forward line, there would never be an easy defensive ball get. Dovaston adds that class and breakaway from contest.

I'm not sure we'd play that many small forwards in our set up.
Naughton, Darcy. Weightman, Croft + at least once defensive HF and at times a resting mid.

Giving up on Hynes & Dolan already?

Probably because he’s a certainty to be off the board by our pick now.
Its why unless you're an active watcher of underage football talent or we have access to one of the first few picks. Investing so much into any draftee months in advance is a fools errand.

Especially when as it stands our pick is a lowly 14. Something that may be on traded in any number of ways on the day.

Other than the middling highlights package that was going around a few weeks ago. I know naught about Dovaston, but he doesn't really seem the type who should be a high priority right about now. He feels like somebodies favourite that this board has latched onto as the central topic of conversation as the season was winding down to its inevitable conclusion and thoughts turned towards the draft.

I’d be extremely surprised if we don’t trade back our first on draft night to upgrade our second. Two early 20s picks for 16 & 33. Take a slider or pick up Threadgold & Pickett etc.

Looks like we will definitely be trading our 3 picks with points down to two. It is just a wait and see on which ones

The good news about Gather round is that we’ve avoided both SA teams but the bad news is we have Geelong, again, and it’s our ‘home’ game.

Oh, and we play them again later in the year at GMHBABCDEFG stadium

(Probably)

Looking like Hawthorn based on all the leaks.

We've already waited what feels like 6 months for draft night...then we are going to be dummied and have to wait another day!
