The snake on the veranda was just after some shade and this would not have been a common occurrence. Snakes usually try to keep out of the way of humans. A snake mostly likely would have given Gus a wide berth and snuck past him without Gus even noticing. And if he did get bitten he wouldnt have got far and would have been found by now. You cant keep blaming the Grandma for not checking on him sooner, its not like he was left for hours it was only minutes too long if anything.
I am glad someone at least got to interview the snake and get its testimony. 🙄 More than we have from the family or police.

I agree, it seems totally reasonable imo that he could have followed the driveway out to the main road to look for his mummy and Josie. Then anything could have happened out on the road by a passing driver.
That’s why I found it so strange that they didn’t want his photo out in the public on day 1.
How could they be so sure he wandered off solely within the property boundary ? Doesn’t add up.
Maybe Guss would have made a scene when if he found out Jess and Gran were going to the sheep, as he usually went as well, and this time he was not wanted. So, Mum told him instead said she was going into town, so he headed along the track towards the highway to meet her or someone else the family was expecting. All hypothetically of course.

So you don't believe the 5pm sighting?
If the 5pm sighting is false then there are any number of possibilities as he may have "gone missing" days or weeks earlier than reported. Unless there was a more recent confirmed independent sighting of him.

There was no snake on the veranda.

I’m not going to talk more on this, but there is no evidence of any snake and SAPOL also have no evidence of any snake.

That’s true.

Who knows how long Gus was left outside. We only know what the family tells us.

Just like the William Tyrrell case.

Oak Park Rd will take you to Tiverton Station, which is 16km North East, or West to Grampus 24km. Tiverton is another station. Grampus has a population of about 20 people. There are no facilities or anything there.

If you weren't deliberately going to Oak Park or Tiverton or beyond, you would not leave the A32, which goes to Yunta and further North East.
Yep, my understanding is these are public roads, however, they are pretty much just station access roads and are named after the main station they pass through.

My Wifes family recently sold a station out of Broken Hill, the road out there, some 50km, and through the station, carries the station name but other stations are also accessed from it.

Allegedly imo.

We have a narrative for a 30min window but it can't be verified, imo.

We should dismiss the snake on the veranda story as nonsense. It should be viewed as Josie threatening a media reporter with a shotgun. It's unclear why SAPOL went along with this narrative.

One my white board the 5 pm "sighting" is in the orange column at the present time - unverified narrative. In the black column is listed real proved facts- e.g. Guss is missing, no evidence of him has been found by experts. In my red column I put inconsistencies, brown column contains rubbish e.g. snake on verandah, the photo was recent and the blue columnis for new information;

it's a moveable feast. How do other people note down their sleuthing?

I believe Kurve tried to interview the snake but it just hissed at them.

The sheep did a bit of baa'ing when I nearly barrelled over a flock of them. I don't even know why they use gates out there, sheep are wandering all over the roads.

I doubt there’s been any police search dogs including cadaver dogs. Media tend to get footage of search dogs in situations like this and I haven’t been able to find one photo. Pretty sure there’s only police cadaver dogs in NSW and QLD anyway.
If true that's crazy.
Why not all States?
Maybe in South Australia they are scared of using them, might find too many people they don't want found
