For clarity, are you saying that attending a strip club is basically comparable to two men attending a strip club, then both of them subsequently approaching one woman to have s## with her in a car?

To quote dudusmaximus from a previous post, "Awful, but Lawful".

There also seems to be some reasoning floating around that simply because this 'probably' occurs all the time, including at our own club, that this somehow justifies the behaviour. That because this is to be expected, we should all be OK with it. An 'it's not illegal, so have at it' attitude.

To repeat myself from earlier on, "...in my experience, people that engage in this behaviour generally aren't people I care to spend time with and generally have attitudes towards women that I find disgraceful."

Again, does that apply to Bruhn? Maybe, I don't know enough to make that call.

And for the record, as a guy, I 100% agree with my daughter's position.
Cats09 posted the article up above that you should read.

I dont understand your first sentence.
But they didn't get into the strip club. They met the stripper outside and agreed on a transaction.

Is he back in full capacity reintegrated?? The sooner we can integrate him fully the better.

Going on photos, he has been training with the team for most of the year.

^^^

But not sure the external matters have formally been finalised beyond what was discussed via a reporter last week

Forgive my ignorance as I don’t know enough about this whole situation, but is he expected to play for us next season and do we know what his current contract is?

Thanks.

Contracted through to 2027

As for his playing future, things should become clearer once the off-field stuff is finalised but there's nothing to suggest he shouldn't be available for selection

Unfortunately, opposing supporters like to latch onto anything they can and use it from now on. Geelong is one of the most hated and despised clubs in the AFL.
Envied belongs in there too. To be in contention EVERY year is ridiculous.
Maybe the inability to get Marshall and Curnow over the line, and to include Falcons Worpel and Bruhn next year, means we have to recruit and start the rebuild while con tending?

Are there any media articles confirming that Tanner's case has been dismissed yet?

Recent media reports said paperwork had been submitted for the charges to be dismissed.

There is still a court hearing publicly listed for 11/11 so presumably that’s the date the matter is officially closed.

As a avid female Geelong supporter I am going to try put Tanner’s grubby behaviour out of my mind next season. He has paid a huge price for this behaviour so if the club support him so will I. The reality is he will never be very likeable in my eyes however as someone said a lot of AFL players are not angels once it comes to the opposite sex.

Sexual assault charges against Tanner Bruhn dropped after witness admits lying

In a scathing statement issued on Tuesday, Bruhn’s lawyer Anna Balmer said he had endured a “nightmare” over the false claims and wanted those responsible for the false allegations held to account.

“Tanner is innocent. He was falsely accused of these crimes,” Ms Balmer said.

“Whilst he is thankful that the court process has vindicated him, he is understandably upset that he had to go through a court process at all, and that it took a year to get here.

“Tanner wants to see those responsible for making these false allegations held to account. We should all hope that Victoria Police properly investigate what appears to be an attempt to pervert the course of justice by at least one, if not two prosecution witnesses.

---

The prosecution’s case fell apart after key witness Harrison Martin, who was at the club with the complainant on the night, took to the stand and cracked while being questioned under oath last month.

Mr Martin had testified for more than two hours about what he said happened that night, including exchanges with the accused men, and his concerns for the complainant’s safety.

The next day, in a surprising turn of events, Mr Martin admitted he lied and announced he needed to redact swathes of his police statement because it was either lies or misleading.

The court heard when he left the witness box a day earlier, a police officer involved in the case followed him outside to make sure he was feeling OK.

During that conversation, Mr Martin confessed he had lied.

“I am sorry. I lied in my police statement. Am I going to get in trouble?” the officer’s notes from the conversation, which were read out in court and Mr Martin agreed were accurate, said.

Under cross examination by top criminal barrister Hayden Rattray, for Bruhn, Mr Martin then admitted he had little memory of the night and that his police statement was mostly just stating things the complainant had told him.

His bombshell evidence included him admitting the complainant had tried to show him her police statement; and told him she had lied to police even before he gave his police statement.

“(She) told you previously that she lied to the police about the rape allegations?” Mr Rattray asked.

Mr Martin replied: “From my memory, yes’.”

The witness said the complainant wanted him to make a statement that supported hers.

“It wasn’t a direct, ‘you must say this in your statement’, it was, ‘you don’t remember what happened, so here’s what happened’,” he said.

This whole thing just makes me ill.

False allegations can cause irreparable damage.

Hope he can bounce back.

Perhaps surprisingly, most comments on the rumour board and Reddit are expressing sympathy towards Tanner. I think he will move on from this in the public eye.

That key witness fella is a dog of a bloke. Small mercy that his conscience (and the threat of perjury) smacked some sense in to him after so long.
Will be interesting to see if he faces repercussions

The Herald Sun can reveal the league removed Bruhn’s stand down order on October 6 this year, meaning he is free to resume training with first-to-fourth year teammates on November 24.

He is eager to begin pre-season training in a bid to help make up for lost time after recently completing an intensive training program with a fitness coach at Gold Coast.

Bruhn’s agent, Paul Connors from CDG Sports, said Bruhn was keen to return to the field following a stressful season on the sidelines dealing with the protracted court battle.

“After an extremely challenging year, Tanner is eager to put this nightmare behind him and focus on reigniting his football career,” Connors told the Herald Sun.

“The Geelong Football Club has been amazing in its support and in particular (player development and wellbeing manager) Mark Worthington, who has been a rock for him throughout the entire process.

He is expected to participate in the club’s practice matches in February next year in an attempt to press for selection in the early rounds, but the Cats will not hurry him back after a year out.
