The current rot started with free agency and created the distorted top end of the competition we have had to endure for the past 20 years. Creating a wild card system with 10 teams in the finals is not going to fix the inherent problem of allowing players to chase the big money at the top clubs. To fix the problem would require some actual application of intelligent strategic thinking planning and execution to make the competition more competitive. Good luck with that

2nd: 10th place 2026

in 2023 11 wins got you 10th
in 2024 12.5 wins
in 2025 12 wins

10 wins in 2022 but 1 less round

looking at our fixture i reckon 11-12 wins is achievable

The bottom 2-3 teams over the past few years have been almost all time for badness. If Us, Richmond and west Coast improve a bit this year can see that wins required to finish 10th tally coming down.
That said, finishing 10th on 11 wins should have you putting your feet up for the year, not playing finals
