Looks like your hands are full 'reaching around' so you wouldn't have time ...Wow I didn't realise we were supposed to keep score.
If we use a late-ish draft pick after Ison, then it would be less speculative to select a young KPD than a KPF.We havenāt been linked with any talls to my knowledge, so I am thinking we may have reverted to thinking Harry OāFarrell may be deployed forward when he returns, leaving Weitering and Dean to be the staples down back, rather than have an elite triumvirate. While HOF is a bean pole like a young Harry McKay, he gives off different vibes to the original Big H. so I see them able to co-exist. We have options with likely HOF and Kempy both capable at either end and Young still a viable option back or doing a role forward or in the ruck.

HOF could very well have better Big Forward attributes than a lot of this years KPF's.
Phillips or Paea would give us more immediate KPP coverage, and that's sensible.(and these 2 also shouldn't be selected unless they're good enough)The question is always is there one that is any good? You don't select one for the heck of it
With HOK Dean HOF still developing we need some bigger bodies to fill roles at least in short term. I think that is why we are looking at Phillips and Paea

Are we definitely looking at Phillips to take up a SSP spot or is that just what you think? Could he just be assisting with numbers at training? The question is always is there one that is any good? You don't select one for the heck of it

IE insuranceTheyāre firm, but itās because the official train-on players get paid.
Which is why you can have extras from the VFL team, because they get their VFL wage.
Paea is very much a mature medium forward. He looks lighter than his overage year in the U18s honestly. Very talented, had a good year for Werribee in 2023, but clearly hasn't always had the thirst for taking himself to he next level.Phillips & Paea. Two mature KPP's
Looks like he will be left waiting unless another club picks him up. I like him and would love us to find a spot for the young man, but the signing of Reidy and a shortage of spots probably leaves him in limbo.Just wondering Flynn Reily nominated for the draft and if not, how will the club get him on to our playing list ?
first oobWonder had long Jagga will get before some part of his game is canned as not being elite enough
First time he dump kicks inside 50 from a stoppage, or gets caught holding the ball.Wonder had long Jagga will get before some part of his game is canned as not being elite enough
stratosphere maybe not, but different level? 100%.I think until proven otherwise, Chesser and Florent arent players who move the needle in any direction at all for us.
They might. But again, they have no runs on the board to achieve anything for us. Put it this way....Florent vs the encumbents of Ollie/Saad/Newman. Do you really think Florent moves us to a different stratosphere of ball transition over Ollie/Saad?
So with that request for Walter we don't know Vossy's plan. Let's wait before we give him and Carlton kudos. They have only failed us and the group of players out there with a sub standard gameplan of kick it high or higher inside 50.
Of course, when we see a modern gameplan then yes, lets accolade away.
In each match, lets count how many overlap unmarked forward marks we take vs how many we give up per match.
Yeah, but he then dominated all season in the VFL. It's not like hes played AFL and failed. Never really been given a go. I'd personally back VFL form over pre-season training form which is a bit more subjective.Didnāt Phillips train very underwhelmingly with the club last summer and be deemed to be not required ?
Some guys are just very good VFL players but just not AFL standard ā¦
They struggled against all Australian key forwards and defenders. Think we might have be a little harsh on them. LM struggled to touch it against Weiters when played for* despite being pretty good in most of his other games.Yeah, but he then dominated all season in the VFL. Liam McMahon also didn't impress us last year either and that's looking like a mistake.
This will be a defining factor if we are to improve & progress, all aligned with better implementations of D50 exits & F50 entriesā¦Of course, when we see a modern gameplan then yes, lets accolade away.

Yep & Paea was behind Carlton's favourite son, Callum Moore at local level. I'd be surprised if we picked up either.Didnāt Phillips train very underwhelmingly with the club last summer and be deemed to be not required ?

But is it.. he has played some okay games in a very poor side that had a longer injury list than we had in 24. If we had McMahon, do we expose HOK, does he prevent Moir from developing further?Yeah, but he then dominated all season in the VFL. It's not like hes played AFL and failed. I query Nic Newman - lets see how he goes this year but he is defintely getting onJust reviewing our list and contract situations, we have a lot of fringe players coming out of contract at end of 2026..
Adam Saad
Ben Camporeale
Billy Wilson
Flynn Young
Francis Evans
Harry Charleson
Hudson O'keefe
Jordan Boyd
Lochie Fogarty
Lewis Young
Lucas Campo
Matt Duffy
Mitch McGovern
Nic Newman
Nick Haynes
Oli Hollands
Rob Monahan
Sam Walsh.
Sam Walsh is obviously the #1 priority to re-sign, but is no guarantee especially if we have another poor year, outside of this I would think only Ollie Hollands, Nic Newman and Hudson Okeefe are guarantees.. I would expect Saad to retire and then Boyd, Fogarty, Lewis Young to be delisted and the rest would be no more than a 50/50 to be kept on.
