Did a bit of digging and youre right the AFL said they rejected Hawthorn's application because we applied in Greeves draft year. Except that there wasn't actually a rule against this at the time - the rule only got changed this year in September to require applications to be made before the draft year. And also ignoring previously that North applied for Sanders in his draft year and had their application accepted. So AFL just making up shit as usual to suit its agenda.Wasn't Greeves that we didn't add him to the NGA before a specific age?
I doubt we’d take more than a few seconds to scream Grlj’s name out. You're on the clock. Greeves, Grlj and Dovaston all on the board. Who are you taking?
We might have trouble with the pronunciation is all… Not a name you want to tackle phonetically…I doubt we’d take more than a few seconds to scream Grlj’s name out.

They weren’t able to, this was back before the AFL changed the rules to ensure that the scum were able to draft Kako in the first round as an NGANorf must have not matched the Dogs bid given he's on their list.
There's so much that goes into assessing these kids it's not funny. A lot of clubs these days do things like speak to random teachers and coaches just to get an idea of their personalities off the field. Then there's things like trawling through their social media account history which always seems to dig up some funny stuff especially when the kid might've made negative posts towards the club that ends up drafting them.I just remind myself that we have a whole team of people who know more about these kids than I do.
Do they always get it right, of course not.
But they know a hell of a lot more than some on here who watch a few highlights and blurt out “I hope we don’t waste a pick on him” or “He will be a bust”
Thats not even going into how some of these kids go in interviews.
Some kids may actually have more talent that others, but just might be complete head cases.
I think we've found a winner on the nickname for this kidThe one without the vowels.
He got through life without them. He's strng.

Talk is Melb are taking Nairn
The media love linking garbage players like Farrow to us, i hope Mark McKenzie doesn't do it, we dodged a bullet with Liam Stocker, Braeden Campbell ect, please dodge the Farrow bullet
Richmond are likely to take Grlj, if available he would be a great pick up for us, Greeves might slide to 20sIf sharp is off the table are you taking greaves at 10 Or would you go grjl?
Wow Davo , you really don't rate that kid do you? I trust in your judgement so I'm gonna see if I can do another deep dive into this kids credentials as a AFL level player. Looked quite good as a attacking half back from what I remember although calls for him to be a mid does seem a stretch.Talk is Melb are taking Nairn

The knocks on him are his disposal is not that great and does not do enough inside mid work, must be more of an outsider runner like I Smith but surely you would want good disposal before selecting him. Each of them, Greeves, Dovaston different, obviously Grlj is higher rated player than those two, so his disposal cannot be that bad.100%
Suits our gamestyle perfectly.
Yep, they are all pretty good players, such luxury to even have that choice. Each serves a different purpose. If our main purpose is to add to midfield than greeves but as others said he should be available with our second, so maybe one of the other two.I'll take whoever MM picks.
you seem to have very strong feelings on farrow, most of us wanted to pick him up with our first as had the highest ceiling, the bull in the middle ahead of sharp, cumming. He is still rated up there with Cal, but I get it, if someone has some intel on player, know him personally, that do not think will make it, that cal does not know, then that is a good thing. Cal rates Nairn pick 25, obviously not that highly, these ratings and where clubs might pick up players are different story.Talk is Melb are taking Nairn
