Jack Williams is only 198cm. Whilst his craft is decent, he will only ever be a pinch hitter at that size. He will need to be primarily a KPF/KPD if he is to make it with us .

I like him tho, his 2024 was awesome. 2025 not so much but it’s good to see him come back leaner.
I still go back to 2024 to when Witt’s (again) was taking Bailey Williams apart on the Gold Coast and Jack went into the ruck and at least Nullified his knocks because he did basic things like taking the front spot at throw ins making Witt’s have to go over him for the knock.

You even look at Jeff whites
Video about stoppages from yesterday and the example of a knockout we won correctly the ruckman was Jack Williams.

He can’t be any worse than what we have so I’d love to see him get first crack at it

Its what i teach my undersized rucks, if your smaller get in front, make them reach over you, make the ref make a call every contest. DONT SURRENDER FRONT POSITION

It's almost like the recruiters know more than us fans. Noone has been talking about this guy in the media as being rated near the top dozen. Obviously there are some clubs that have him rated there though so perhaps he is our target and we believe that he will go before our natural 3rd pick?

Rated at 30 by ESPNs latest rankings (only one below Addinsall who we are also reportedly interested in)...

30. Cameron Nairn (32)
Central District/South Australia
FWD, 188cm
National Championships: 4 games, 10.0 disposals, 2.3 goals
SANFL U18s: 13 games, 20.5 disposals, 1.7 goals

Nairn is a quick-thinking forward that kicks goals in a variety of ways. He doesn't have an elite athletic profile but finds space inside 50 and makes his opportunities count, plus showed glimpses further afield late in the year by racking up touches through the midfield.

Traits similar to: Nic Martin

Doesnt really read like someone worth trading up for and taking early/mid first round but if he turns into Nic Martin, Id be happy with him at 13.
As an aside, Dyson Sharp's girlfriend was sitting with Cam Nairn's girlfriend during the game against Vic Country.

Care to repeat what you said about it over there on here too? 😂😂

I’m wanting to raise an interesting question on Essendon’s picks 5+6. What impact will the Pieman have in the Drug Rat’s draft without the heavy hand of Dildoro?

When did the Pieman ever successfully instruct the WCE list manager to trade up to the very pointy end of the draft? I cannot recall it happening. That said, 5+6 for 2+13 does represent a trade back and he was an expert at that.

It is relatively obvious that Essendon need midfielders. Lord knows the Pieman has been in that situation. Many believe 2 midfielders in Cumming and Sharp would fit the Don’s list needs beautifully. He may take 1 but history suggests he would rarely double down and take both. The Pieman knew with great midfielders like Ainsworth, Brayshaw, Clarke, XON, Partington, Foley, et al can be found later in the draft. Besides, he knew that a flanker with midfield potential normally fills the void. Maybe the Dons have asked Nairn to be at the draft!

Next, the Pieman was very good at drafting talls. Why has the football world dismissed not trading up for CDT or at least taking Schubert at 6.

If he slips by Richmond, isn’t Grlj just the player that the Pieman loved. That said, he loved an injured prospect and that brings Harley Barker in to play. Or is this just another reason to push hard for 2+13. Maybe he might get he way with 5+6+27 for 2+10+34!

Does the Pieman like a tough inside bull? It was obvious to us all in 2017 that the List Manager mouthed Worpel and the Pieman overruled and let a proven inside midfielder slip and he took our collective favourite in Brayden Ainsworth. Is Greeves that player - I saw at the Metro game that Greeves has leadership stamped all over himself!

Essendon's midfield is in better shape than ours. There's a world where CDT + Schubert are more attractive this year with the ability to take a mid at the top end next year. Pick 21 will also be in a great spot to snap up a slider.

Absolutely I WCEswift will jerk off every dude (ladies too i guess?) in this thread if we take this draft haul

Still second to seeing bombard eat his own shit.

Hall and Allan haven't proven themselves yet. Why did we finish 18th with contested possessions if we had these big bodied midfielders already in our team.

We have been drafting to address the inside mid issues over several drafts. You don't focus on one position in one draft.

Now the likes of Hall, Gross and Bo need development games.

We dont need to draft 3 more inside mids this draft, that was the OPs view.

Its not obvious at all Essendon need midfielders. They primarily need ball users and speed on the flanks.

If im Essendon im taking Sam Cumming and putting him at HF come Round 1. For Pick 6 id probably want to take one of Dovaston/Farrow in a massive reach. Theyd be smart to try and move pick 6 to Crows for say Pick 16 + F1st and be ok with grabbing whoever of Lindsay//Hibbins-Hargraves/Taylor/Phillipou that slides to that pick

C: Duursma. Durham, Fiorini
R: Bryan, Caldwell, Merrett

Perkions/Kako/Parish in the mix too.

Midfield lacks 1 more superstar but they definetly are not short of midfielders
