That’s exactly how I would envisage itI’d hope our trade with Dons is this:
Blues give picks 9, 43 and 54
Receive from Dons: 21, 27 and 30
43 and 54 help dons land one or both academy players and 21, 27 and 30 gives us for points with Dean plus Ison..
Surely it’s more like this?
My mistake thought you said 11 which is being turned into a F2 and points this year. 9 is being turned into more points. It was always about Dean/Ison - this gets us more points for them. 9 from the Swans was always getting absorbed.Giving up pick 9 for a future second?

We have traded 4 first round picks and three top quality players for just Smith/Dean? This just is isn't true man.All i know is we've given up 4 first round draft picks in the past 2 years for Dean and Smith. Along with a trio of top quality players. Add Walker to the list next year and it could be 6 first rounders for 3 players. Is that responsible list management?
Giving up pick 9 for a future second? We already have the draft capital for Dean and Ison.
HS reporting that the mooted swap with Ess is 21, 27 and 30 for pick 9! That is better than expected with what has been floated on here
Then here's what you do: let them have Dean. He's not worth that.
You do not get held to ransom. I take the Richmond talk as bluster as well, because we might actually be in a position to trade with them, so they can turn around and say to their members that they engineered a trade on the back of a bluff.
Your deals are excluding the possibility of Patterson being bid on before Dean, which is a wild take from Richmond's recruitment team.
Who said were getting Dean or Ison for nothing? I'm saying if Dean is bid on early it might be best to not match any bids that cost us 2 top 11 first round picks.I don't know if you can't read, or are just stubbornly insisting that we were going to magically get Dean and Ison for nothing until we traded Charlie

That's the issue. Opposition clubs know this and are now screwing us.We've committed to him and he's committed to Carlton.
I agree. Trading Charlie not looking like a great move now.
Trading him now means the first round picks we get are effectively useless. It was an excellent trade. A couple of years too late IMO.![]()

Personally, that would be my most disappointing outcomeI hope we hold off on these dumb trades until a bid is actually being made.
Really disappointed we aren’t going to just let our second pick slide and get another player in the later first round.
We aren’t getting a F1 next year.Personally, that would be my most disappointing outcome
Happy to get points for this year and ideally a f1 next year

.You're back, where is pick 6 in this deal? That’s exactly how I would envisage it

What's it costing us in draft picks? Ask yourself the question instead of being obsessed with points. We're not being screwed. We're securing the points needed to match a potentially very early bid.
At the end of the day is Dean worth pick 9 and 11 in isolation. First draftee to cost two first rounders. Then here's what you do: let them have Dean. He's not worth that.
