It's not great news for us. Bombers know we don't want Sharp and think they may be keen on Farrow.

I hope we hang on to the GC F1. All we heard was this years draft is possibly going to be the worst ever. So I reckon it’s going to have to be a majorly over type deal for us to give it up. Of course GC should be gunning for a prelim next year. But the draft is less compromised. And even though to top 2 talents as it stands are club toes the new yet to be released rules means there’s a chance they’ll have to use multiple firsts. So the GC pick could come in a little.

If there is a player we really like and we need to trade that pick out then why not. Get a player in a year earlier.

It may be hyperbole but it was mentioned on trade radio. One of the hosts said a courier had said it was the worst or weakest ever. Pretty sure he wasn’t the only one to say it also in the media. Of course things can change.

Don’t think it’s a big risk as one of Sharp/Cumming/Grlj was already going to slide so they would have to risk 2 of them sliding to take Farrow earlier.

If Sharp and Grlj are both there at our picks it’s a good thing for us and a no brainer really.

We're not interested in Sharp and not that keen on Grlj. IMO we'd take Nairn and Pickett possibly if all of Robey, Cumming, Taylor and Farrow are gone.

How do you know we aren’t? Doubt random people on bf know our clubs internal rankings.

Last year we were linked to Tauru as the bolter and didn’t take him.

I never said we were taking Tauru so not sure why you're doing this weird made up stuff. Probably shouldn't be surprised though I guess.

My guesses...

1st pick - Jagga Smith is already gone so we take Langford.
2nd pick - Allen and Tauru gone so we take Lindsay.
OR If all 3 above are gone we try to do a pick swap with Port and then take Berry (or just straight up take him if we can't split).
3rd pick - Riak Andrew or Dom Brew

Agreed. it means in theory that they will go Farrow and we're gonna end up with like a Nairn/Ludowyke combo because we're not linked to Sharp/Grlj/Dovaston etc. We're in the clear 2nd tier of the top 10. So this definitely sucks. Unless we circle back to Sharp which I think would be wise.

May have been mentioned multiple times but I still think it is overstated. I do think if we've identified someone this year which won't be available at our 3rd pick I think it's worth considering f1 despite it being a 'weaker' draft. Not that I'm advocating for it, just that I trust our recuiters to make the right decision in that case. In terms of weakest ever, well nothing will top 2003 imo Cooney, Walker, Sylvia, Ray, McLean and Bradley as the top 6. That's probably the worst in the 21st century at least.

Not sure why you think we're not linked to Dovaston? It's been mentioned in multiple articles that he's on our list. I think we'd likely have Pickett ahead of him, but we would definitely take one of the two before looking at any of Ludowyke, Grlj and already mentioned we're not interested in Sharp. Would not be a shock to see us end up with Nairn and Pickett if Bombers get that extra pick and other picks fall as roughly expected.

Of course. But it’s the recruiters job to project. I just think from available info this draft is seen as pretty weak and heavily compromised.
