Just looking at the full nomination list for the draft & just a few things that stood out.

Jake Caton & Darcy Montgomery both Eagles NGA's have nominated even though we haven't nominated to have access to them. Could simply be we rate all the other guys infront on them & just don't have to space. If they don't get picked up would be good to get them into the WAFL eagles to see what they could offer.

Another Eagles NGA Travis Puertollano who I've never seen mentioned has nominated. Seems he plays for Broome Saints in the West Kimberley League. Can't find much on him although theres a WAFL profile for a Daijon Puertollano who played 1 colts game this year who is also listed from the Broome Saints so thinking it's the same player. Anyone able to share anything else on this kid?

Jordyn Baker has also nominated & I think he was unlucky to never get a game with us. From what I saw from him at League level this year at East Perth he was impressive, think he has the talent & can't work out why he was let go. Watch Geelong pick him up...

There’s quite a few NGA’s who have nominated in the draft - from my understanding with the NGA rules changing the club can choose who they want to stay in their NGA for their 19th year, and they had to nominate themselves to stay in the academy. Each year the clubs can reevaluate for their 20th and 21st year respectively. Quite a few boys haven’t been given the opportunities they deserve yet and have a lot of potential and development in them. Excited to see in the 2026 season who starts to shine and be seen. Would be good to get quite a few of them some Eagles WAFL games as the season progresses.

Schubert also tested top 10 in endurance. Its not a flex
Yes becauee CDT putting on 30kg will have no impact on his speed endurance or agility... Young rucks need to pack on weight and it will adversely impact their times

20m sprint is the least useful stat they test for. It doesn't tell you if someone will get to the ball first, or can ball carry.

Agility is much more useful, it's what made Naitanui such a weapon at ground level early in his career before the kilos added on.

CDT is an efficient not an explosive athlete, he will lose pace quickly if he adds too much weight in the upper body needed for wrestling rucks.

Are you high? it's well known he doesnt/can't jump. He's a bad shot at goal and drops absolute sodas. The marking is somewhat ignored because he clunks some quite good marks to almost make up for it.

The Rowan Marshall comp isnt terrible except that Marshall is a better mark, and would pants him in ruck contests.

A bad ruckman who is 'fine' as a third tall forward but is mobile for his size. Heck yes another Bailey Williams, dream come true. Only costs pick 2???? Deal
Marshall doesn't 'pants' anyone, considering St Kilda had the worst hit out differential this year.

wednesday night emotional stages loading

Who’s giving us their F1 for pick 13 - which will drift to 17on the night

Carlton were trying and only got Norths F2.

Twomey has said clubs aren’t interested in trading next years firsts

Take this lad.
And he can have Guernsey #6 when Elliot Yeo retires.

Dylan alexander had greeves to us at 13 in his latest mock draft. If we miss out on a slider he could be best available at that pick

I must be in the minority here.

I still don't get why we need to be sensitive about bidding for players using Pick 1 - Hindsight, I would think if we used Pick 1 on Walters instead of Harley, he would not have the shit show we had with the West, and his time would be a lot easier.

The excuse being they get BS portfolio from NAB, you guys do realise we are the biggest club in the land. When Harley arrived in the first two weeks, he was at an exclusive business gig where some poor ****er paid 2k for his boots cash. We can organise something that will compensate for missing out on 10k, only to get it in cash one fortnight/month later.

If it's me, I am taking a flame thrower into the draft and burning the **** out of Gold Coast, and then, pending how it works out, bidding on Dean and Annable too.

Pick 1 will be Pick 4/5 and a statement is made to the comp, **** bluffing.

I think a lot of people agree that it should happen, its more so whether or not it will. That being that it is a single digit % chance

Moving up 4 spots, not 1.
And the point, from my perspective at least, is that I'd rather robey or other mid we'd get at 5 than cdt, & brings us back into range to get dovaston, or even sharp at 9.
5 & 6 would be better than 5 & 9 obviously, but seems that ain't happening
Yes, I meant one extra spot.

Giving up 2 and 13 to slide down to 5 but move up to 9 is ridiculous, we’d need more than that.

Think there’s a good chance Essendon come to us with picks 5 and 9 for our 2 and 13

Picks 2 and 13 will get us:
• Duff-Tytler
• One of Lindsay, Barker, Nairn, Pickett, Marsh, Hibbins-Hargreaves or Oskar Taylor as possible options albeit at least 2 from that group won’t be available

Picks 5 and 9 will get us:
• At least one of CDT, Robey, Cumming or Sharp
• At least one of Sharp, Farrow, Dovaston or Grlj

Is the drop in talent from that group around 9 to the group around 13 big enough to justify trading down from CDT to Cumming/Sharp/Robey

Opinions will vary depending on how you value Duff-Tyler’s unique talent/athleticism and positional ambiguity at AFL level compared to our need to fill a midfield hole that’s been too often neglected in the past. Along with the capability of Sharp, Cumming or Robey to fill that void

Genuinely think either option is defendable and why I suspect if Essendon were to offer 5 and 9 for 2 and 13, I don’t think we’d accept.

Suspect we would accept 5 and 6 but doubt that gets offered - 5,6,9 looks better for Essendon than 2,9,13
I just don't see how a 3 pick down grade from 2 and 4 pick upgrade from 13 equates to anything other than a loss.

I've been carefully studying the form line of potential draftees by reading the comments on this thread. It seems every player in this draft, is a potential gun, and if we pick them, we should burn down the club because we are ruined, is the vibe I'm getting.

Is that about right?

That's pretty much it. CDT and Sharp are both spuds and the future of the club.

This year I’m breaking down the draft guide into more manageable chunks. Part 1 of the draft guide covered the top 9 prospects and was posted yesterday, this is Part 2, covering pick 10 down to pick 29. I highly recommend watching Part 1 first!

Rather than doing a strict numbered list I’m instead breaking the prospects down into tier groupings, Part 1 covered tiers 1 and 2, and in this video we cover tier 2.5 down to tier 4. Part 3 of the guide will finish things off, looking at the deeper prospects and breaking them up into types. I’ll be working on that in the coming days, hoping to have it out on Tuesday.
