Rookie Me Central 2025 Draft Guide

Matthew Clarke on Gettable 17/11

Cal Twomey’s Phantom Draft

I’m a pretty big NHH truther, I do worry about his role at the next level though, is he a wing man, high half forward etc? His engine isn’t great, nor does he like the contested stuff at times, but the natural talent is enormous and he’s a match winner at his best.
I agree with you, but it is your last point that excites me the most. He has enormous natural talent and when it matters he is clutch. The fact he had one very good performance in the wa game in wa in front of our recruiters would only influence them further.

I do think the more players we have that are clutch the more games we will win in the future, which is why if we can develop him right he will be worth an educated punt.
Him, Tylah Williams and hewett in the forward line could be quite exciting for the fans.

Clarke has just said we may slide 13 back… Hope there’s a F1 involved.

Also hinted that Essendon may offer a package including pick 9 assuming that trade with Carlton gets done.

Said they might slide back only a few spots so doubt a F1 would be involved

Did also say they might try to move up as well with Cal saying Hawthorn could consider moving back depending on what the draft board looks like

iT WAS A DISAPPOINTING LISTEN REALLY. Sorry caps again.
Nothing new, nothing we didn't already know.
I am not keen on moving 13 back, not at all.

I wonder if they are looking at moving back to get more currency if Williams gets bid on towards the end of the first round.

Given how much we have enjoyed his content all year, everyone should go buy noobermensch a coffee. Here is his link

Sliding back is probably on the cards if we think we can get our target, plus add points for matching bids given it seems we may get an earlier than hoped for bid.

Moving 13 back a couple of spots isn’t much of an issue depending on who’s there. Looking like no one from that second tier is going to slide through, every chance of getting the same player. Does seem odd after trading up in the Starcevich deal though.
Odd. Its ****ing absurd

I dont even think this dimwit plans what he is having for dinner before 5:30pm at this rate, never mind the draft hand itself

The interview was a absolute train wreck. The guy doesnt know what to do is the summary we got

West Coast is open to moving its pick 13 on Wednesday night as the Eagles close in on who they will take with picks 1 and 2.

Eagles list boss Matt Clarke says the club has all but decided who they will take with their top two picks, but will 100 per cent lock in their decision internally over the coming days.

Draft expert Cal Twomey has long expected the Eagles to take Willem Duursma and Cooper Duff-Tytler with their top two picks, but Clarke would not be drawn on that speculation.

Clarke added the Eagles have not received any firm offers for picks 1 or 2, but are open to moving its pick 13 on the night, either to get further up the board or to push back, depending on how the first round plays out.

"There's some chance we could move up, there's also a chance we could move back depending on that group of players," Clarke said.

"A lot of clubs are having discussions of between pick 9 to 15 or 16 about either moving up or back.

"Or it might be just status quo and we will stay and pick a player."

Interesting that the Tigers have also flown to SA to meet with Cumming.

Could be a real shake up if they go with Cumming and Farrow with their two picks and kind of emphasizes how you could throw a blanket over most of the top prospects

I dont know what I heard at this point. Seemed like random mumblings. Atleast we cant crticise his decision making since he hasnt actually made one
It would be very out of character for you to melt about something that hasn't happened

Yeah exactly, moved back 10 spots for a 4 spot upgrade, now we're looking to trade back down again? Most likely it will be for an F2 or something similar with a team looking to trade up a couple of spots.

At a point in time when something needed to happen its a fair time to melt to be fair

He should know what the plan is by now.... otherwise he should just stay on here during draft day, chuck a poll up and take whoever we say at pick 13.

Feels the safest bet

Publicly revealing our draft strategy a few days out would be a very smart thing to do
