I don't think there's much uncertainty around WC's picks any more. Twomey said on Gettable this morning that it's going to be Duffma, and Giesh more or less agreed with him, without outright saying so.

Most in the media are saying we love XT, and Giesh didn't try very hard to hide that this morning.

So it seems the final choice is probably between Robey and Cumming, with Robey the slight favourite.

If WC went Robey over CDT we would just take CDT.

If they went him over WD then that's where I think we grab Cumming.

The most important thing that giesch brought up in regards to XT is that he REALLY wants to be at Richmond - it sounds like XT was selling himself to the tiges rather than the other way around. XT made it very clear that he is committed to the tiges - this is a big factor in what looks to be a line ball decision between about 4 blokes. He wont need pushing or cajuling to get involved and buy-in to the culture - he's already there.

Even though everyone says they are professionals and they will be 100% with who-ever choses them - they dont start this way - they are still kids really - kids who have been following their heroes/club for over 10 years. I could imagine Robey would be a little dissapointed at first if we draft him over the Bombers. Getting him involved in the culture and committing would be part of the first year process - but with XT he is going to be on from day one.

Can already see the Richmond media footage of our recruiting team going up to Mildura and telling Cumming he’s coming to Richmond.
Rusty Beam were there cameras with Blair & Giesch?

Hilarious that Dean will go that high.
Suck sh`t Carlton.
Is he really better than taking two top 12 picks?
This is where i like the fact that we seem to be very balanced when it comes to FS and NGA kids.
If they suit the pick we have, yer sure take them. If its a reach, forget about it

Does make you wonder about a draftee almost begging to go to a club that he barracks for…
If XT doesn’t get taken by Richmond the club that does would have real questions around how committed he would be there.

Richmond can just grant him his dream after his first contract.
Go to Essendon son 👍 see how horrible it is…then come home in a couple of years.

That's my top 10 for sure. I think it'll be Twomey's too (maybe bids in different places).

Melbourne difficult to gauge

It's a good point if XT interviewed really well he's on par with others around the same area of the draft.

If you look at his progress from round 1 all the way up to the GF his development was exceptional. Had a great finals series, but BOG on GF day wouldn't have been on the cards for me mid year. He was really disappointing at the champs and I kind of pushed him aside as a prospect, but his back end of the year just kept getting better and better.

FFS… had to go re-watch Cumming’s highlights and now I’m torn. Kid is a jet. Tough, quick and thumping kick… Robey and Cumming would be sweet but XT feels more likely than Robey 🤔

I’m cooked. Hurry up draft before I change my mind again in another hour
Cummings gives me Cotchin vibes....
I've come to the conclusion that we cant loose out of XT, Robey or Cummings.

Exactly this. Xavier Taylor seems amazing, but it’s really the only position that we have solid and settled depth in. You could argue KPF too, but at least you can say our KPFs are young and not settled yet.

We desperately need more midfield talent (both speed and contests), and at 3 + 4, I want us filling one of those attributes.

Not going to melt over selecting Xavier Taylor over Cumming because Taylor’s actually good, but it might end up a missed opportunity for us IMO if we do that
Will be Taylor & Cumming if we don't split.

Well now that you've done that are you going to read it now 🥺
I just did, looks pretty good apart from the blatantly obvious error.

Only other one I'm not convinced on is Schubert to Dees but yeah not much else screaming out that they will pick there instead, possibly Farrow.
