If Austin had known Dean would have been bid on by West Coast a month ago and Ison early 20's pretty sure he would left a couple,of picks in the 30's to deal with the bids as Dean has been rated 6-10 until the last few weeks & had the capacity to bring in another player eg Lindsay. As I've said previously, we've heard for months now that WCE have Dean in the top handful this year. Even before we acquired the picks from the Curnow trade.
Their 'experts' rate him higher than others, that's really all that matters.
could it be Pick 9 plus 43 for 22, 27 and 30?Will we have pick then? If we trade 9 & 11 and Dean is picked by WCE not sure we will have any picks in that range left
I would be a bit disappointed if this is how it plays out, I think Dean and ISON are worthy of their draft range but we aren’t addressing our lost needs aggressively enough imo.
It won’t take much more to make me happy, if we get a pick in the 20s before ISON or if we end up with a pick in the 40s after him, I’ll think we have done a good job, provided that pick addresses a need, KPF or small forward.

I think he will play very very early. Potentially Opening Round.Ison seems a big lad that moves well; shame he didn’t test at the Combine (guessing the ‘leg injury’ wasn’t serious).
I can’t really see anyone on our list he is analogous with - any of our more astute draft watchers think he’ll be ready enough to push for a debut in 26?

Yep, totally agree with that. I can see it falling something like:I think it depends on who's available at the pick, although I'm almost certain that at least one of 43 or 54, will be going back Essendon's way. Doubt we keep both those picks. Apparently, the Roos might chuck in 46 with their deal though.

Personally I'd be surprised if he didn't earn a debut next season. 192cm smooth moving mid/fwd who can run, kick and plays with aggression, I think he's going to be a steal for us if he's bid on in the 20s.Ison seems a big lad that moves well; shame he didn’t test at the Combine (guessing the ‘leg injury’ wasn’t serious).

Oh I 100% agree and know what you mean - but (selfishly) would have loved to see what sort athletic profile he has - he's not a small kid!Could not disagree more.
Good chance he goes in the 1st round as it is.
Maybe he already knew and thats why we held out for Sydney 2027F1?If Austin had known Dean would have been bid on by West Coast a month ago and Ison early 20's pretty sure he would left a couple,of picks in the 30's to deal with the bids as Dean has been rated 6-10 until the last few weeks & had the capacity to bring in another player eg Lindsay.
I think I have more of an idea than you... anyway time to move on, I've lost too many brain cells with this debateNot sure you're aware of how the nominating process works if that's your opinion.
A couple of the things you have said previously are ridiculous.

Precisely; and we'd probably even be reaching, at that.Hudson Walker. We are obsessed with little skinny short forwards. For list balance Carlton you need to draft a developing KPP. Unless the small player is super good.
We are obsessed with that type.
Shhh knowing our luck WCE will do a Dean/Ison double-bidPersonally I'd be surprised if he didn't earn a debut next season. 192cm smooth moving mid/fwd who can run, kick and plays with aggression, I think he's going to be a steal for us if he's bid on in the 20s.
I caught up with one of the development coaches from the Oakleigh Chargers last week - lovely bloke, and it's great to hear the enjoyment when some of the players he's helped develop are a good chance to be drafted, like a proud father. They've got a few this year as well.I've seen a little bit but people at club are really excited. Talent wise Top 10. Reminds me of a mix of Pendles and Bont the way he moves and plays.
His is a big unit with great vision and a lovely left foot. Feeling is he will really improve in AFL system. Just starting to mature
Only time will tell but looks good
Later today I believe. Is Twomeys Phantom Draft expected to drop today or tomorrow?
Moves a little like Pendlebury, but I've personally got some slight knocks on his tank and read as he got an easy ride in terms of running patterns when he did accumulate in late season games after taking time off.Ison seems a big lad that moves well; shame he didn’t test at the Combine (guessing the ‘leg injury’ wasn’t serious).

No problem with youth. Enough of our kids have decent grounding already. We are better served than we were last season. What more could we do?
If they weren't F/S or Academy and we got them with normal picks I am sure most would be happy. Still two very good players in a poor draft nd we will still bring in two more players that will likely be more mature and ready to play if needed
We now have a very young list
