Next years draft is less exciting now with Cochrane out of the picture. Part of the appeal for the Bombers F1 was potentially two tickets in the sweepstakes for him.

Could potentially be in the same situation as this year with the best prospects club tied and having to pick the best talent over needs.

My guess? Because the club have told Sharp we’re not taking him but Twomey has a do-no-harm policy so didn’t want to announce it in case you did something drastic.

This feels like massive overs, which yes yes you have to pay if you want to jump that high in the draft, but if this is what we’re setting as an expectation I suspect we’ll be disappointed.

2 and 13 for 5 and 6 on its own is probably closer, given the alleged tier drop off by the time our 13 comes around.

I’m not entirely sure. My source is from the other side of the fence so is probably unsure re: potential trades for pick 2 and what deals you have there.

Yeah I know it’s an easy thing to say, but I am surprised at the “they’ll bid on Uwland and Dean then take CDT” chat on most of the mocks. Surely just clear the decks of the next few guys too that every expects Richmond to bid on (Annable etc)

Happily take Pick 1 and Pick 5* by the time we’ve bid on a bunch of people and deleted the middle order of the draft entirely.

Is dean actually a better player than CDT or all the QLD academy kids? I know it seems unlikely Carlton won’t match no matter what if these proposed points trades go through but is he really the player we’d be happy to walk away with if they didn’t?

We have told the Dons we will bid on Dean at 3, to help them to get pick 9 off Carlton.
Then they would be able to trade 5 and 6 for 2 and 13 but still have 2 top 10 picks.

You don’t settle for a “10% premium” for the gulf in upside between CDT and Sharp.
