I’m aware I am in the minority but 2 and 13 for 5 and 6 doesn’t interest me, it’s a fair deal but I’d rather just take CDT and stay put at 13 personally.

2 and 34 for 5 and 9 is what I’d be standing firm on, that gets us one of Robey, Cumming or Sharp (I’d have them ranked in that order) and then Dovaston, Farrow or Grlj.

I think any combination of those guys is better for us than CDT, but I don’t think 2 of those guys is better than CDT and also still having pick 13 where there’s a chance one of those guys get through anyway.

We need to be gaining an extra early pick not moving down 3 spots to move up 7 spots imo.

For sure, but I doubt he'll be a bust, at that level.
He'll be a handy player wherever he slots in.
I'm still on board the Sharp train, or any inside extractor type mid. Was rewatching some reels of Priddis and for all his shortcomings, he was an absolute ball pig, he got it out one way or another.
as much as I like Sharp, I can't see him adding any more value in the midfield over the next 2 years than Dev Robinson will. I would be more inclined to go Duursma at 1, Robey at 2 and I was on the Dovidson train but I think either Farrow , Marsh , NHH or Shubert at 13, then Onley at 34 ... Then either Banfield or Williams at 41.... but like anyone here I'm looking through my own glasses and the club has a better perspective than a fanboy like me.

If we want sharp when sliding down 6 wouldn’t guarantee it, Essendon could still take him with 5. Needs to be 2 for 5 and 9.
I don't think we want Sharp, the supporters might want him but I'm not so sure the club is thinking this. I've said it before and feel free to disagree, but I can't see him adding any more value than Dev Robinson will over the next 2 years.

Next years draft is less exciting now with Cochrane out of the picture. Part of the appeal for the Bombers F1 was potentially two tickets in the sweepstakes for him.

Could potentially be in the same situation as this year with the best prospects club tied and having to pick the best talent over needs.
The F1 for next year draft will help with NGA FS bids. We have a bunch coming through in the next 2 drafts we need to be able to match bids on.

What is the issue with the Sharp bloke? Why does he divide opinion so much? Is there a solid logical reason for the posters downgrading him?
CDT fan boys think Sharp is slow and one-dimensional

It’s surely more a case of posters on here upgrading him as opposed to posters downgrading him.

I don’t see too many (any?) being against taking Sharp if we were to move down the order to the range he is ranked.

I don't think it is Sharp so much as people pick their winners and after so many months of arguing about it what perceived cracks there are in one players game over another gets amplified.

Perceived low upside of Sharp v. Exactly the 'type' of player we need. Reverse for CDT (high upside v. What do we do with him).

I don't have an opinion on him at all. Never seen him play a game.

But a couple of times a day i check the last few pages on here and i keep seeing people saying things like he has already hit his ceiling and has no further upside and we should only take him if he slides to the mid teens or later. I am just wondering if that opinion is built on something real and tangible or not. Or maybe they just want CDT so badly they are imagining negatives about the other prospects with that pick.

1- Duursma (WC)
2- CDT (Ess)
3- Cumming (Rich)
4- Grlj/XT (Rich)
5- Robey (WC)
6- Sharp (WC)

2 and 13 for 5 and 6, doubtful but let me dream for a 48 hours.
If we were sure to land Robey at 5 then we should do the trade.

If pick 6 was then any of Cumming/Farrow/Sharp then happy days. Duursma, Robey and one of those three would give us a good mix of future midfield options, most with some positional versatility.

FWIW I asked on the Tigers and Bombers board a few days ago who they would prefer out of CDT & Robey if they had the choice and the clear favorite was Robey.

Obviously the hopes of fans count for nothing but interesting to see Robey is rated so highly everywhere except this board. He could be real draft shaper as to where other players fall around him.

If we got him at 5 plus another good mid at 6 then we make away like bandits IMO.

no, thats what a lot of draft/youth watchers say. Don't know if true. guess time will tell.
No they don't. He's universally a top 10 pick even with NGA/FS players.

I don’t think anyone has said Sharp has hit his ceiling and from what I’ve seen the “we should only take Sharp if it’s mid teens” is more in relation to not taking him at 2 (our next pick is mid teens).

People do say that Sharp has a lower ceiling than most of the top prospects because it’s a common consensus amongst just about anyone with a clue of the draft.

He’s a borderline top 10 pick in a weak draft.
Cal reckons Addinsall after a bid on Jai Murray, Tylah bid on by Freo, Schoenberg add to the rookie
If we stay at 13, I’m very happy with Addinsall and many in here should be too.

Is that ball pig accumulator that a lot in here want.
