I think Murphy and Kuhnemann are relatively even with Rocc a little behind but I can see all three playing together in India (with Sangha even if Green and even Hardie is established in the side).

CA XI is meant to be basically a best-of from second XI and premier cricket (with a focus on exposing players to a higher level) kind of like if there was a seventh Shield team picked from the scraps of each state. JFM has been doing well at that level this season.

Jhye obviously the outlier but he's been coming back from injury via club cricket and this is a smart way to get him back up to speed quickly without rushing him back for WA.

There is not a world that Vidler doesn't play test cricket if he gets his body right. Easily the most raw talented young quick we've had come through since Cummins. Swings it an enormous at 145-150k. He'll be pushed to the top very very quickly if he can stay fit, he's a unicorn.

I rate Roccichioli a bit higher. Gets more turn and bounce

Can't see Murphy being successful anywhere in tests except in the subcontinent

Geez, no one really puts there name on the map across a variety of platforms

Macca Harvey leading the way with a composed 52 for Cricket Australis XI versus English Lions, Liam Blackford top scoring with a well made 86 along with highly touted Teague Wylie who made 71.

None of the bowlers really stood out, 3 fas about it

Shiel level and again, no one really standing out. Ollie Peake with ANOTHER start (29) against Queensland as one of the longest batting orders I can remember only muster up 318. Kellaway with a failure cup top (2)

Konstas with a start but failure to kick on (43 off 39)

Teague Wylie is an interesting one. Bit of a forgotten man when people speak of Australian test prospects, but I think that's because he seemed all the rage 2-3 years ago but has ended up looking like a slower burn. Visually he can look very good, and plays some beautiful shots, especially off the back-foot. But otherwise there is something dodgy about his footwork, he shuffles around so much which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it seems like he often takes half a step too many.

Its a bit hard to find recent footage of exactly what I mean but its something I have noticed when watching him. This is just a nets session but I'd be interested to hear what some of you here who have a keener eye than me think.

If I were him, I'd spend some time watching Rahul Dravid, who also used to move around a bit but only a bit:

But in any case I think he is a big prospect, he recently got 117*, scoring over half his sides runs against an attack led by Jhye Richardson in 1st grade. 50 over match though, so I hope he will be getting plenty of red ball time this summer.

They were a great combination for NSW at u/19 level and both played in that winning worls cup team. Anderson provided the guile and Straker the pace and agression. They led that attack to two wins in successive years at that tournament. I dont think they are much of a comparison as they are totally different bowlers. For me, Anderson is more your Fraser O'neil style - moves the ball both ways and has silky skills. Straker more like a Boland type who bowls a heavier ball and tries to nip off the deck.
