Actually don’t mind the CDT Addinsall combo, just thought it was ironic that Addinsall would be championed so much after bagging Sharp.

It was more the Sharp at pick 2 vs CDT at pick 2, any little flaw in their games are going to be amplified by both sides in the argument lol.

As ive said many times ive got no issues with Sharp at pick 3 or 4 if we had it

If you actually paid any attention to what I said before, youd have known that I was always fine with Sharp at pick 3 or 4 if we had it.
I was never against Sharp, only against him at pick 2.

Jog on bud, you and most of the other Sharp pick 2 fans here seem to just intentionally ignore that the only thing myself and other CDT pick 2 people have been saying is that we dont want Sharp at pick 2.

I would implore you to find a single person that has outright said they think he’s a late first player

I think we're incredibly poor at closing exits close to stoppage. Now that's got to be partly because we don't keep width properly, I think numbers keep getting sucked to the ball because we're not fleet of foot in the numbers needed.

In don't think Addinsall makes a difference either way as he's obviously good at hunting the ball and we've not rectifying this massive problem with personnel changes. It's the ability of feed off a team mates good contested work and getting dangerous offensively from inside to out without slowing play and compromising ball movement that worries me.

After watching Simmo's tactics for years I've got low tolerance for slow play from clean ball.

Could be a structure issue, could be a problem that the players dont know who is meant to go and who is meant to stay out, could just be personnel.

I tend to think its a structure issue, and maybe a player maturity/leadership in the midfield problem mostly.

When our 3 main mids this year were Harley, Hewett(both basically 2nd year players) and Hough who got moved into the middle after being a defender his whole career, theres going to be gaps there.

Yeo being fit, McCarthy staying in the middle, Harley/Hewett having another year under their belts, etc will all help

Once again, people were - legitimately - expressing doubts that Dyson Sharp was worth our second pick (initially pick 2, then maybe down to 4 depending on bids). In Twomey's final phantom draft, he's nowhere near that high.

I didn't read a single poster that - legitimately, and not trolling or baiting - thinks if Sharp somehow gets to our third pick that we shouldn't take him anyway. Every phantom draft - including Twomey - Sharp does not last past the mid first round. So the narrative that 'others didn't want him in the top 10' is just blatant gaslighting.

Time to take a break from this thread until the draft methinks.

This club is stuffed for the next five years. I look forward to the acrobatics when we finish bottom 4 for the next FIVE years and potentially Duursma and Harley leaving the club 2027 together to reduce the hate. I haven't included CDT because he's not going to be worth anything come his request for trade


I might tune in until the names get picked to see if they are Hail Mary trades. The last time I felt gloomy was preseason last year and turns out I was right when we won game. Best thing coming out of the trade and draft peroid is DEV.

Doesn’t have the athleticism to use said great kick unfortunately. Don’t have him in my top 30 myself

I will pay it, he is possibly the best kick to come through the draft in my time as a draft watcher, possibly the best kick in a longtime full stop. My concerns with Lindsay are literally everything else at AFL level. He reads the play well obviously and can put himself in position to take the odd mark, but having 75% uncontested possessions at champs for example; I just don’t see him being able to rack it up like that at AFL level unless the entire defensive transition gameplan is designed around him. I don’t think he can be carried in that way by our team.

That’s just dishonest. There have certainly been statements to the effect that we shouldn’t draft him at all, and that he’ll fail in the AFL and be out of the system in 5 years.

Oh god not this Sharp rabbit hole again. No chance we are taking him at pick 2, and hopefully not at all. Let the Bombers replace Hobbs with another Hobbs and leave us out of it.
