Marsh has a lot, and I mean a LOT, of raw traits

The consistency and strength have to improve, but that’ll come with time and experience

He’s not just another Brayden Cook

There's no difference between GS and Academies. If you're ok with FS, should be ok with the other.

Get rid of all of them I say

Father sons every team besides GWS and GCS have the opportunity to benefit from father sons. I guess it’s the luck of the draw whether they’re going to be elite or not?

Academy are benefiting four teams, heavily in favour of the suns and swans. The academy has been diluting the draft where teams lose the opportunity to benefit from the draft.

2023: Walter, Read and Rogers
2024: Lombard
2025: Annable, Uwland and Patterson

Maybe Hamish still has a small flame burning for Elijah Hollands.

If we take Marsh, we should just not bother re-drafting Welsh.

I hope Hamish is bluffing with the 2 live picks, because unlike some others I like the late picks that may be available
We are trading 48 out to GC for an F3. i hope its their Essendon F3. Port are trading pick 49 to them too for an F3. We better be smart and lock the Essendon pick as it will be a dozen spots higher than GC'S natural 3rd next year i think.

Then our 50's picks will come into the mid to late 40's after bids chew up picks so curtin is a probable there

His kicking is super elite

Already kicks goals from 60m and has barely done a leg weight

Very accurate too and also laces guys out over distance with his field kick

Endurance is elite for role too

is under developed with huge ceiling / upside
He actually might emulate Tex's field kicking given some time. And he could easily develop physically, anyone remember how skinny Tex was when he walked into the club?

Going two talls is a bit weird, especially as Hamish said the last pick would be needs-based

I can see it being LeRay, who Cal mentioned as linked to us as well

Really the opposite of diluting the draft, the northern academies are adding to it - developing a bunch of NSW and Qld talent that would've been lost to the game without them. This year, players from at least Sydney and GC academies will likely be drafted by other clubs (as they won't have enough points to match all of them). Will never be a national game with 95% of the players coming from 3 states like it has in the past. Have to look big picture.

FS has had more impact on the equalisation, and the rules and opportunities are different for each club. The Daicos boys were FS and their Dad stopped in 1993. He actually played 43 games of AFL footy, the rest VFL.

2021: Darcy, Daicos
2022: W Ashcroft
2023: Croft
2024: L Ashcroft
2025: Dean

Anyway, the trouble is the best players of drafts aren't available to the bottom teams who should be able to draft them.

Clubs and fans only cares about FS "romance" when it's a good player. Pies fans weren't upset when Jake Kelley was playing for us. We weren't upset when Edwards was at WC.

But just lose both in 1st round, no discounts and the 50% rule is a good start, but wait for it to be gone in 2 years when Vic clubs complain it's too hard.

Premiership Pie Mason Cox will land at Freo as a SSP rookie signing. Delisted Crow Harry Schoenberg will do the same at West Coast. Both skipped nominating for the draft so can sign through SSP.

Flawed logic. If we finish top 4 next year we won't have access to top level talent.
Next year's draft is expected to be stronger and have less players we can't select.

Pick 18 to 20 (after bids) next year should be better than pick 20 to21 this year.

I also think we finish in the bottom half of the top 8, which could be pick 14ish.

It's even more pronounced after the first round.

That said, if someone we rate highly slides, there will be takers for our future picks.
