Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Don’t really get the whipping boy tag. Usually it’s just that said player is lacking at AFL level hence the criticism/s.

Lohmann doesn’t fit that category, and would be a welcome addition.
He is performing roughly the same as Motlop in a much better team with better small forwards around him - put him in Carlton colours and the rabble would turn on him quickly

Have to agree, looks soft at the best of times and have only seen him getting softer in photos I’ve seen of him

Cmon Lij ****ing lift, everyone wants to see this kid win
Reckon it was the end of ‘24, Kingy was on the EH needs to get rock ape fit in the body and turn the pudding into muscle.
Still ringing true it appears.

EH is literally my favourite player on our list. He can make the Sherrin sing, which is something I haven't been able to say about a Carlton player since Heath Scotland.

But the reality is that, for whatever the reasons may be, he just isn't locked in on getting the best out of himself as a footballer. He has been publicly given a number of chances to rectify that and hasn't done so thus far.

We need to move into this next era united and fully committed as a club from top to bottom. If Elijah can't manage that, even if we have empathy for his situation, then he needs to be playing his football elsewhere in 2026.

Logan Morris
Sam Day
Ty Gallop
Eric Hipwood
Brandon Ryan
Henry Smith

4 of them are premiership players.
I've been thinking for a while big target key forwards are a bit overrated in the modern game. Collingwood have got by just fine with a journeyman keys with dynamic smalls for years, as are Hawthorn recently and Brisbane. Daniher was hot and cold but could turn it on, broadly though wasn't a consistent marking threat week to week.

I was never really to upset losing a key because they're a key. But part of me was fine with it as we've spent a lot of the cap % on a position that in the modern game isn't the necessity it once was. Really, Harry is the modern key forward that teams build around more often. Can pinch hit in the ruck, is a target, and does do the team things. The big key forwards that didn't do much aside from lead, mark and kick goals are long gone, and Charlie was a little in that mould.

If Skull can not get marked against, ditto Harry but with more contested marking, then I think we'll be fine tall stocks wise. We really need a boost from the mediums/smalls more than anything else.

Yep, and Hayward/Ainsworth should go some way to addressing that. Even if they're just taking better defenders, it might open up some more opportunity for guys like Williams, Moir, Motlop, Evans, Kemp etc. (not all of them in any given week, they'll be fighting for spots) to impact more frequently.

Fogarty played 20 games for us this year....that in itself is hugely problematic in the modern game. Moir kicked as many goals for the season in half as many games as a skinny 20yo without a full senior game to his name prior to 2025.

Been saying that for awhile.Game has changed considerably need more options and particularly ground ball players like your smalls and mid sized talls.

Motlop
Moir
Ainsworth
Hayward
Frankie
Zac

Will all be more dangerous than a Harry/Charlie combo.

Makes me think of Moneyball

Billy Beane
: "Guys, you're still trying to replace Giambi. I told you we can't do it, and we can't do it. Now, what we might be able to do is re-create him. Re-create him in the aggregate."

Soapy V has been banging on about good culture for ages now and so he should.

Have a look at our girls and the way they go about it.All having a great time, playing for each other and look what they have been able to do this year.

Having sooks like Jsos and Charlie bring the place down destroys any assemblance of good culture.

I’ll keep saying it but done be surprised by what we can do next year.

Sophie in the forward pocket might actually improve our AFL side...

Our stocks are OK if they don't get injured and miss games. Given HOK and Harry's past injuries, appears unlikely they will get through the year unscathed. That is when things can fall apart when there is no KP depth.

Lewis Young is nominally the depth forward. Wouldn't want him playing a boat load of games in the role, but not many clubs have depth key forwards they'd love to play for large chunks. Most of the time they're bodies to play a role in a structure.

Basically, what Hok will be lined up doing, Young can play that role too.
