Yep.

I think a new coach is ‘on trial’ more than decent servants to the Club.

I understand the need to have asst coaches who he thinks will understand his game plan - but Davis filled an ancillary role - as far as I could tell there was no need to sack him going on team performance.

I think it was an unnecessary power play.
Did Davis in fact report to Cox? My understanding is that he reported into the W as senior assistant ie to Gowans. He may also have had other roles that I'm not aware of. Anyone know more?
Edit: see above

We have been way too tolerant with injury prone players. Naismith the worst example and Sam Reid not that far behind. Hope history not repeating itself with Amartey. Not to mention playing Mills and McVeigh in 2016 GF, Reid in 2022 Gf and Logan M last GF.
Amartey's injuries are preventable. They are mainly soft tissue. These injuries can be prevented by a fitness program designed to strengthen those problem areas of his body.

Sam Reid has a premiership medal and kicked a sensational goal !
I think a lot of Sam's soft tissue injuries were preventable too. Strengthen the areas that are weakest and give them some resilience. I don't think our conditioning staff think that way. My brother, who is now an ICU Nurse aas a Fitness Trainer, Trained the Norwood Footy club in a Premiership year, believed if you work on your weaknesses, your strengths also improve.

Nick Davis was not an assistant AFLW coach this season and although I think he may have been a line coach in one of the previous seasons. He has definitely been around the women's program and he has been involved with the Academy, especially the girls (with his daughter playing in the Academy - I can't recall if he has a son too, but we should be worried about father-daughters more than father-sons in his case).

When it was announced he was leaving the club back in August, it was referenced in his farewell profile, it said: "...more recently as the senior assistant-coach of the AFLW team, which included a stint as caretaker coach."

So going into the just-concluded AFLW season, was he still a part of the coaching panel prior to the season starting or involved in some capacity, or had he already decided to leave? As it was announced on August 13 Lachie Hunter was joining the coaching panel.

EDIT: he was, as he was paid tribute to in the article announcing the new coaches for 2025:

The interesting thing was what he said on SEN. The audio isn't available anymore, but when he was interviewed on SEN the day after the announcement in August, he said this:

"I've had a variety of roles at the Swans and I've probably just hit my head on the ceiling a little bit. There was probably only two spots to go into, but obviously Coxy is the coach of the men's and Scotty Gowans is the coach of the women's.

He further went on to say:

The club have always been really good to me in terms of some of the other roles I have with other codes. At the start of the year I took some time off to sort of work out what I wanted to do with the next part of life and coaching. It's an opportunity to expand some of my other roles that I do across some of the other codes."

✅
In the third episode he talks about Amartey putting too much power into the chassis being the major issue with his hamstrings (and other things). Does a great summary on each player.

Does anyone know if Lewis Jetta has an official role with the club? He seems to be doing a lot of work in recent times with the First Nations Academy, but hasn’t really been publicised much.

Here is is in a 1 on 1 with Wicksy on the recent NT trip

Gee's I loved Jetts ❤️
