We already have 15 players on our list coming off contract in 2026

Plus Schoenberg on a one year deal with triggers and at least two, possibly three other additions to the rookie list who’ll also be on a one year contract

That’ll be 18/19 players out of contract. Don’t see how reducing that to 17/18 because we added an extra player in the main draft makes much difference

But, I accept there must be a reason because there’s no way they didn’t consider it as an option at some point. It’s just I can’t work out what that reason is and it’s ****ing with my head

I probably need to let it go
Looking over the OOC players next year I think Cole, Long, Champion, Newton, Cripps, Johnston, Barnett and J. Williams are all chances of being traded/delisted depending how they play this year.

I'm assuming Dev will get a multi year contract. Let's assume one of Macrae/Schoenberg is successful and the last rookie spot given to an actual rookie player is extended as they are usually given more than one year to develop and show something.

Hall, Hewett, Bazzo, Maric, Brockman all stay.

Flynn, B. Williams probably stay unless Archer is ready to lead the ruck or we get a decent ruck in trade.

So that's 9 maybes, but I'm bullish on Newton and have always liked Jack Williams and he's looking fit this preseason, plus Champion may come on this year, so if they all have good seasons that's only 6. Plus we only have the extra rookie spots for three years at best so the list managers will need to plan ahead for losing four list spots in three years time.

Personally as much as I love Cripps I would've delisted him this year, it's time to move on. But yeah for sure you don't want to go crazy trying to figure this stuff out with the limited information we have.

I hope we trade pick 2(or pick someone else with it)... I don't doubt CDT will be a good player... But he's going to be stuck in the WAFL for about 2 years before he builds up his body.

Its a poor selection for where our list is at... Select the best mids with pick one and two.. and then maybe look at a tall at pick 13

Richmond are angling to split one of their picks, reckon they want to move down for Grlj / Dovaston and or a future.
Who is the buyer though?

With the uncertainty you might just get who you want and stay where you are? Unless it’s the Hawks but surely they will be keeping their Futures for Butters ect

Got to say a good quality tall coming on in two years looks almost exactly right for the profile of our list.

He could easily play in round 1, hes ready to play

How so?

He fills a list need, hes best available, he can play from round 1 next year, he is a player for the future having a very high ceiling, etc
We already have Duursma as a mid and it sounds like a mid with 13 coming, plus the host of other mids coming onto the list this year.

All the Johnny-come-lately voters jumping on the CDT train now that it's looking almost certain lol

I voted for him on Sunday in the hope it'd annoy the most people possible.

The reactions to us taking Hough are hilarious. The vast, vast majority of us don't know shite, and it shows.
Yep, the difference is that some people are willing to present their opinions as opinions, others argue them as fact. This board would be a hell of a lot more enjoyable if there were more of the former and less of the latter.

Just a few minutes before your post:

People just accepting the club’s faulty decision making and trying to cope.

Yes, SSP was designed for this purpose. From memory, the deadline is somewhere in February next year
Interesting  You could be an evil genius

I’m with you but you’re not helping us out here
Haha... There in lies the issue... Rucks no matter the talent take years to develop... I daresay it will be similar with CDT.

We've spent so much time on Barnett and he was a gun junior

Whoever has pick 9. This is primed for a 3-way trade.

Hi guys, I've done three videos for the Bendigo boys this off-season.
Even though it's unlikely that we select any of them I thought I'd post them here:

Also a couple of midseason draft prospects who I know still are in consideration for a couple of clubs:

Lockwood won't make it to the rookie draft. He is the perfect pick for us, and a few others. Melbourne comes to mind with one of there late picks.

On this Richmond news, is there a world where they're NOT into any of CDT, Robey or Sharp?

There has been some reports about them visiting Sam Cumming. Maybe there's a potential trade where Richmond gets Cumming and Grlj, Essendon gets Robey, Tayloy/Farrow and Schubert, and we get CDT and Sharp?

Which will be Essendon but not sure they throw in an F1 when they already have 2 x10 picks in this draft, surely they keep their F1 asset.

Maybe if they think they will do the Merrett trade and do they trade up to make sure they get Robey when it sounds like a coin flip if he is there at their pick 5.

Will be interesting
