He could easily play in round 1, hes ready to play

How so?

He fills a list need, hes best available, he can play from round 1 next year, he is a player for the future having a very high ceiling, etc
We already have Duursma as a mid and it sounds like a mid with 13 coming, plus the host of other mids coming onto the list this year.

Unlikely to play straight away.
Unless we are looking to him as a key back... The reward for investment is going to require alot of patience... And we got a lot of good young key forwards already.

Trade back for someone like Thredgold... And use top picks for whoever the gun mids are in this draft... We have stacks of really average mids... Need quality

Which will be Essendon but not sure they throw in an F1 when they already have 2 x10 picks in this draft, surely they keep their F1 asset.

Maybe if they think they will do the Merrett trade and do they trade up to make sure they get Robey when it sounds like a coin flip if he is there at their pick 5.

Will be interesting
Why would Essendon offer an F1? They could offer Richmond 9 + F2 for 4.

AFL should give us a PP for it. :tearsofjoy:
Only if it’s on the proviso that you trade said PP to the back-to-back reigning premiers, where the AFL’s new EGM just finished working, for a free agent who if going anywhere else would’ve landed that club zero, by doing so strengthening their ability to match further academy selections to go with a recent crop of heavily discounted gun FS’s and free agents.

Or be like North and land a shit load more PPs despite better onfield performance because the new AFL EGM at that time just finished working at their club.

Who is the buyer though?

With the uncertainty you might just get who you want and stay where you are? Unless it’s the Hawks but surely they will be keeping their Futures for Butters ect
I think it’s obvious they are trying to bait Essendon into a trade up, leaking they want Cumming and Robey - Essendon’s #1 and #2 targets.

I don’t think Essendon will bite though, nor will Melbourne so in the end it probably won’t be dealt.

All reports are CDT and Duursma are their number 1 and 2 targets? Essendon been on record they want to trade up from the trade period and right up to yesterday, will be interesting what the price would be

I doubt Melbourne bite they seem very happy to sit but who knows.

Agreed they are playing this beautifully, get overs or make them sweat at the very least.

We can name him alongside Waterman, Shanahan and Archer in the forward line. Theyre all pretty athletic for big men, and we have an extra bench spot in 2026.
Could easily and id say its highly likely he plays round 1

The gun mids are just not as worthy of a top 2 pick as CDT, and the need isnt there as much if we can get mids with picks 1 and 13

From the Richmond board.

I’ve heard late today the Bombers have offered 5, 6 & 9 for 3 & 4. We probably lose Cumming and Robey and get XT, Farrow and Grjl. That explains our late interest in Farrow.
If that happens Sharp is there at 10 and Hawks I would say would be open to offers (likely take the Pies F1) but if not I’m not sure the Roos or Giants take him.

From reports, looks like Archer's playing ruck/forward also, so I imagine he and CDT will swap in and out if they're both in the side.

People's obsession of fixing this right this instant is a bit bizarre, when we all know it's far better to get the tall players earlier in the rebuild, which which is realistically in it's proper 2nd year as we have basically an entire new footy department with a completely different vision from the old mob.

Ignoring a better talent to draft mids right now for 'needs' just doesn't seem smart.

Sure, if there wasn't much difference between CDT and the next grouping of mids then yeah, taking mids would be fine but it seems, from public feedback from recruiters and draft watchers at least, that CDT is a cut above the next group.

This is also ignoring the fact that Duursma is a mid himself and the best player in the draft.

Especially when reports are that we are literally drafting 2 mids in the first round this year, along with more than likely Banfield and maybe Evans, plus adding mature depth to what was already a group of mids who need time in the AFL side as it is.
Doesnt make sense to go yet another early mid this year.

People are tunnel visioning a single issue in our side and want to over-correct, glad theyre not in charge of the list

Hi guys, I've done three videos for the Bendigo boys this off-season.
Even though it's unlikely that we select any of them I thought I'd post them here:

Also a couple of midseason draft prospects who I know still are in consideration for a couple of clubs:

Legend, love the content even if slim chance to be drafted.

Looking over the OOC players next year I think Cole, Long, Champion, Newton, Cripps, Johnston, Barnett and J. Williams are all chances of being traded/delisted depending how they play this year.

I'm assuming Dev will get a multi year contract. Let's assume one of Macrae/Schoenberg is successful and the last rookie spot given to an actual rookie player is extended as they are usually given more than one year to develop and show something.

Hall, Hewett, Bazzo, Maric, Brockman all stay.

Flynn, B. Williams probably stay unless Archer is ready to lead the ruck or we get a decent ruck in trade.

So that's 9 maybes, but I'm bullish on Newton and have always liked Jack Williams and he's looking fit this preseason, plus Champion may come on this year, so if they all have good seasons that's only 6. Plus we only have the extra rookie spots for three years at best so the list managers will need to plan ahead for losing four list spots in three years time.

Personally as much as I love Cripps I would've delisted him this year, it's time to move on. But yeah for sure you don't want to go crazy trying to figure this stuff out with the limited information we have.
Bbw is a free agent next year so who know's what happens with him
