Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
I must admit, I knew we were going to be giving away our first pick months ago, was not sure how, but I knew we would, so I have not actually studied this draft much. I don't really know the top 10 like I usually do, though it does seem like a fairly weak draft all things considered.

Absolutely. I am pretty high on all 3, for different reasons, and while I don't expect any of them to come in and play AFL straight away, adding them to the young tall defenders, the smalls, Will Green in the ruck etc, we have a pretty impressive list of potential players across many positions. Would like to see a developing key forward, but hey you can't be too picky. If we come out of this draft with King, Kyle and Carmichael then we will have had a very good trade/draft period.
Have heard that Harry Kyle is now set to go at Pick 2, but is in discussions with Chelsea on a position on the right wing or a rookie contract at the Lakers. Unfortunately will be unable to attend tonight due to scheduling conflicts with the Milan Fashion Show and the Australian Philanthropy Award Ceremony.
Should've closed the thread temporarily after thisDraft begins tonight with the first round. While we have no picks, there is a chance we could see one, maybe two bids coming in tonight for the like of Kyle, King and Carmichael who are projected to go anywhere in the 15 to 30 range.
Our interest tonight is that they fall as far as possible to make matching their bids easier and also hope father son and NGA and others Northern State academy players are selected to bring our picks into a higher value range.
We have 5 selections, 31, 32, 42, 60 and 71 and will take 3 or 4 selections depending on how large we want our senior list to be.
You love it.Should've closed the thread temporarily after this

JokingYeah, nah
I actually do , but it's the useless content drafts from nobodies that i don't and the pressure on the kids and families , i experienced it last year , not my family , but close to it and be there on the nightYou love it.
I feel for the kids who are doing their HSC as well. They have the pressure of both events at basically the same time.I actually do , but it's the useless content drafts from nobodies that i don't and the pressure on the kids and families , i experienced it last year , not my family , but close to it and be there on the night
Which of the GWS players we bid on were a reach or spiteful bids?Today is an example of why I didn't like our bidding strategy in previous years. We have deliberately bid on GWS players for instance just to be annoying, and now GWS have the ability to return the favour. If we didn't bid on the GWS players in the past, make GWS pay more for their players, then perhaps GWS would have returned the favour today and not bid on any of our players.

My recollection was that many people thought the bid was at about the right spot. If it was one or two places above expectations then it would have been because not being a flight risk was seen as a valuable trait.I would argue Harry Rowston as at the time even Twomey was a bit surprised as it was seen as a bit of a reach.

The 2019 live pick swap with the Crows and then using their pick to bid on Mead seemed a bit suspicious. Obviously we must have rated him, but wouldn't surprise if there was an added request as part of the swap.
