Twomey accuracy might be a bit lower this year. Draft is very flat and clubs might be looking at unexpected sliders as a bolter comes into the mix mid first round.

We'll be lucky for Williams to not attract a bid before our 3rd pick at this rate.

Whilst he's not the pure mid that is prefer at that pick, it is exciting to think of him, Tylah Williams and possibly Champion buzzing around up forward

The biggest surprise with the Addinsall link isn’t so much that we’re being predicted to lodge a bid, but the virtual automatic assumption Gold Coast won’t match. They’re clearly getting some trades done for picks later in the draft to generate extra points and you wonder why they’d be bothering if it wasn’t to get themselves in a position to match

There’s almost no what ifs on who we pick if the Suns do match which imo is more likely than unlikely

Reading the tea leaves I’m sensing that player is Josh Lindsay. I do think GCS will try and match the bid, it’s clear they know they need more points. I keep saying it but if we are serious about Addinsall we should go Uwland-Patterson 1-2 and theees no way they get the points to match after that.

I’m sure Willem will understand us wanting the player we rate as the best mid available with our third pick.

Been reading up and watching some Addinsall highlights, he seems like a good player but I'm not completely sold, I reckon there will be better options at pick 13. He's already done a hammy twice according to rookie me

I kinda get it tho. They have so many young midfielders who are still yet to crack the team.

plus it’s likely suns are feeding this to the media (cal) also.

Now harley is giving the jumper to some family who made him fat and a 200cm ruck who there is nothing in common with. This is photo has the potential of going the worst with 3 leaving the club

I'm not watching and It's rather gloomy day. Even more gloomy then last preseason where we ended up with 1 win.

The club I know and love has jumped the shark today.

Expecting him to be a bit hit and miss purely because of the teams with multiple picks that could go with a fair few combinations.

Very hard to predict whereas in the past the average footy nuffie could probably pick the remainder of the top 10 if given the first 2-3 picks.

Happy Draft Day everyone!!!

I for one am excited to who we will be bringing to our club today.
One thing is for certain, the club wont be able to please everyone.
Get around the kids we choose and welcome them with open arms.
For the record, i've been on the Sharp bandwagon from day one. Sometimes you just need to choose a person who knows how to football the best.
But hey im not paid by the club to be recruiter, so will be happy either way.
I would like to think the club knows a bit more then us draft nuffies.

Have we compared Sharp to Buckley? Or Buddy Franklin? Anyone already do CDT and Polly Farmer? Or Just want to make sure we've covered every player in existence.

Sharp is a David Mundy clone in my opinion. Just my two cents worth

Would it be in our interest not to bid on Harry Dean and encourage Carlton to hold their picks?

Pick 13 could be two picks better off if they don't trade them.

Duursma - genuinely excited about him, think he'll be a gun and while the Bont is a best case scenario, even if he doesn't get there and "only" ends up a Goddard level player, that is an awesome player and a worthy number 1.

CDT - i've made it clear i'd rather trade down and get Sharp plus bank assets, but also think CDT could be a very valuable player in time so won't be melting. His athletic profile is unique and exciting.

Addinsall - haven't seen any of him, but if the club is actually going to pull off the strategy of burning GC so they can't match, I'll be impressed, and hope for the best.

Williams - matching makes sense, given he'll cost less than what the bid comes in at, and not guarantee that if we don't match we'll be able to pick up a better player ~10 picks later when our next pick actually comes up.

The above still leaves us looking for one more gun mid in 2026. What is the top 3 of the open pool looking like? Is there a gun mid there? If we add them, then Warner the next year. We should have the framework of a very good young team.

I'd rather pass on Williams and Addinsall and take F-Rod and Banfield in the main draft and rookie list Curtin and Williams.

Thredgold would be the best fit with Harry Edwards as far as KPDs go.

I’d be inclined to tell Geelong the price is their F1 and F3 for our F2 and F4. There will likely be another 3 picks in between after GCS and Lions trade them out.
