Yes, maybe the surgeon got it wrong.
But Essendon werent cautious allowing him to do oval work only 4 months into a mending graft.
Thanks Doctor Nick👍
Have had two ACL reconstructions. The timeline fits.
Every football player who has come back from an ACL has run on grass.

Ive had one. And everyone i know was only jogging straight lines on a treadmill and swimming at 4 months. He was about 2-3 weeks away from oval running by my calculations.
I know they have the best medical staff, and things can be fast tracked a bit, but if it is another ACL then medical staff have indeed made a mistake.

Both times I was running straight lines on an oval at 14 weeks. Half pace.
I saw him the other week at training. That is what he was doing.
Sometimes accidents happen.
As you say they have the best advice and probably 50% more Physio access than us average punters.

Lets not jump at shadows until we have more news. The signs aren't good however we can't wrap players in cotton wool forever after surgery. There has to be a point in time where some level of stress testing is done.

Maybe he has just strained it and need the surgeon input?

Definitely doesn't sound good but could be minor.

In any case, shit happens and we move on.

Although it was a replacement I had. I had about 115 degree bend in my leg after 4 months. Went down the stairs in the dark and missed the bottom step. Leg folder closed to about 175 Degrees. Hurt like all hell but I got a great range of movement from it afterwards. guess I'm saying can still be optimistic he hasn't totalled it again. I've got my fingers crossed for him

Also possible that it's a separate injury to the same knee, like a meniscus, or something minor that involves a clean-up that doesn't delay his recovery by too much.

I strongly doubt a new fitness staff off the back of last year would have taken an unnecessary risk with one of our most important players. We do dumb things at Essendon, but that's a different level of dumb.

I doubt they took any risks but things happen.

Hope you are right that it is minor.

As other have said if it was ACL again our medicos would know in 5 minutes and there would be no point hiding it from the media.

I had similar, slipped on sandy carpet after a double miniscus repair surgery. Thought it was ****ed again, hurt like hell for a few hours, turned out good a couple of days later with no further injury
