Few posters banging on about 2021 draft over the past few weeks, and bagging out draft preferences on here for that year.

That was the massively covid impacted year, where SA and WA played a few champs games but that was it. Most of the draftees had missed 2020 footy and 2021.
So it's a bit unfair to reference that year for peoples preferences on here. It was a small sample to go off.

An F2 gets it done on points. My question is more about whether it's possible based on what everyone wants. Richmond, for example, are reported to be open to moving down while Essendon are looking to move up.

Why would we care? If we don't get one of the NGAs we just draft someone else we rate similarly in that cluster.

The point is we won't get anyone later, we won't have the list spots available.

2021 draft thread became a topic for discussion a day and about 600 pages ago, revealing lots of melts that we took Brady Hough (Fox Footy rank 72) over Arlo Draper (taken shortly after and delisted after 0 games).

Lots of certainty that looks pretty hilarious a year or two later.

I like how Duursma is openly self - critical. He acknowledges that he wasn't happy about it and that it took him accepting his role. in many ways more mature than Harley.

Which is fair, if the same rhetoric/certainty/vitriol to others was also equally tempered back.

But it wasn’t. So the usual ‘I know more about this teenager than you and the fact you think yours is good but mine is and means you’re a moron’ and so on still persists, exhaustingly.

Thread stopped being about comparing and rating the teenagers a while ago and is just into a who is smartest person in the room contest on a topic we won’t know the answer to for years, by which point we’ll have repeated it many more times.

Nothing against the keen draft watchers but the closer to the draft we get, the more aggressive the thread becomes and it’s faaarken exhausting. Usually it’s not even the seasoned draft crew doing it, just the people who go all in with some YouTube research late in the year, but doesn’t make it any quieter.

Anyway, anyone got any thoughts on Sharp?

Been saying for months that Cumming is the best SA prospect and here we are, he is likely to go early to Richmond.
Sharp may not slide as far as I proposed he could but he certainly has slid.

But what do I know.

Apparently a number of teams interested in moving up for Lindsey, could be an opportunity there. Especially if we do 2 for 5 and 9, could potentially trade 13 out for a future?

Besides that im happy we have the extra list spots in the rookie draft that lets us take fairly safe decisions

Pick 13 is the risk of being Clarked so to speak. Hopefully we just take a midfielder and dont be too arrogant about it

Unfortunately at pick two the "elite weapons" are largely academy tied, leaving us with CDT, Cumming, Robey, Taylor or Sharp.

What order would you rate these players?

CDT, Robey, Taylor, Cumming, Sharp in terms of high value afl traits, think that’s pretty obvious tbh
