They won't do it but West Coast having the top two picks should stick it to Carlton and GC by bidding on both their prospects at pick 1. That way even if either let them have the player (they won't), they can still get Duursma at pick 2 anyway.

How are people feeling about the Houston trade 12 months on?
Essentially it is going to work out to be

Lukosius, Richards, Berry & Whitlock for Houston & Dyson Sharp

I'm not mad at the outcome at all.
Would have been an extremely good outcome if we didn't capitulate this season
Whether Houston was average or Houston had won the Brownlow in 2025, doesn't change that the trade was shit and is still shit in retrospect. That he's now playing average football, in a changed role that doesn't suit him or his side as well doesn't change we got way unders for him.

Stephen Silvagni parted ways with Carlton on December 3, 2019, when the club announced he would be leaving his role as General Manager of List Management and Strategy. His contract expired at the end of the 2019 season, and the club did not renew it.

AFL LATE MAIL PHANTOM DRAFT

Pick 1 – West Coast: Willem Duursma
Pick 2 – Gold Coast: Zeke Uwland (matching West Coast's bid)
Pick 3 – Carlton: Harry Dean (matching West Coast's bid)
Pick 4 – West Coast: Cooper Duff Tytler
Pick 5 – Gold Coast: Dylan Patterson (matching Richmond's bid)
Pick 6 – Brisbane: Daniel Annable (matching Richmond's bid)
Pick 7 – Richmond: Sam Cumming
Pick 8 – Richmond: Sullivan Robey
Pick 9 – Essendon: Xavier Taylor
Pick 10 – Essendon: Dyson Sharp

Pick 12 – Melbourne: Cam Nairn
Pick 13 – Essendon: Lachy Dovaston
Pick 14 – Hawthorn: Sam Grlj
Pick 15 – North Melbourne: Latrelle Pickett
Pick 16 – Sydney: Harry Kyle (matching GWS's bid)
Pick 17 – Greater Western Sydney: Oskar Taylor
Pick 18 – Gold Coast: Jai Murray (matching West Coast's bid)
Pick 19 – West Coast: Beau Addinsall
Pick 20 – Western Bulldogs: Josh Lindsay
Pick 21 – Adelaide: Mitch Marsh
Pick 22 – Carlton: Jack Ison (matching Geelong's bid)
Pick 23 – Geelong: Blake Thredgold
Pick 24 – West Coast: Tylah Williams (matching Fremantle's bid)
Pick 25 – Essendon: Adam Sweid (matching Fremantle's bid)
Pick 26 – Fremantle: Aidan Schubert
Pick 27 – Hawthorn: Liam Hetherton
Pick 28 – North Melbourne: Harley Barker
Pick 29 – Sydney: Lachie Carmichael (matching Western Bulldogs' bid)
Pick 30 – Western Bulldogs: Louis Emmett
Now that you can see it laid out like that. Still baffles me that the Crows didn't think AhChee for Pick 21 was pretty fair? let alone the further watered down deals Brisbane offered.

What makes it worse is we got fk’d over by a bunch of meter maids.
How pathetic.

I think the trade will overall be a positive for us long term, but a lot of that is Whitlock looking like a gun.

We just had to get something else back. We should have at least another 2nd round pick or something.

The only two times I can think of GC winning trades is we overpaid for Dixon, then overpaid for Luko. That we were seen as such a soft touch over the Davies/Hinkley era for trades, that even GC screwed us, was yet another reason heads should have rolled, not allowed to leave on their own terms.

They gave up Pick 4 (2019), for Adelaide's Pick 19 (2018) and Pick 11 (2019). Horrible trade.

They then as this guys calls out, they moved that Pick 11 for Pick 17 and 20. That's not as bad.

Overall they turned a Pick 4 into Stocker, Kemp and Philp.

They had the ability to grab Hayden Young, Caleb Serong, Tom Green, with that pick 4. Ky Pickett, Will Day, Bergman, Weightman all options after that first trade that they missed out on.

Meanwhile the Crows turned that Pick 4 into Fischer McAsey and Luke Pedlar.

Man there's so much bad draft work that gets done when you go look in hindsight.

Wonder if the guernsey will get off the hanger? :tearsofjoy:

Several clubs do not have a first-round pick so are unlikely to feature at Marvel Stadium, but AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey is reporting Paul Licuria (Collingwood), Josh Carr (Port Adelaide) and Ross Lyon (St Kilda) will be present and do the honours if a shock pick swap is orchestrated to bring those clubs into the first round of the draft.

Geez, Hassa Mann must be about 103 by now.

Addy23 is it true that Ah Chee deal with the crows is the total payment of the deal the same as they offer him before but they only change the structure of the contract where they only pay him 2yrs @ 1.4M then pay him 700k for the rest of the deal?
I know about the 2 years @1.4M and its true, but can't confirm if the payment across the deal is the same but I think it would be because usually these kind of deals only change in terms of structure rather than total salary. Its a dangerous play but one I'd take if I were Crows. Not one I'd take as Port.

I wouldn't be surprised if he fell off a cliff after the first 2 years where he nets 1.4M. Maybe its just my view, but I've said from the start that Cal Ah Chee to me doesn't seem like someone that'll play at a high standard for another 5 years

Bit harsh. Dixon 3 time PAFC leading goalkicker, 2nd in the Coleman and All Australian. Luko 1 season completely stuffed by injury.
Barking up the wrong tree on this one Andre.
